Sunday Switchup: Marie the Woozle!

Saturday I met a woozle! (This is what many ferret owners call ferrets.) Her name is Marie, pronounced the French way. She is now my friend.

I almost waited for Woozle Wednesday, but I decided she was too cute not to share today.

I think he had other pets too, but I kind of forgot everything after I saw his ferret trying to escape through the front door.

I miss ferrets. I had friends who had them when I lived back East, but they’re illegal in California.

Woozle

They are SO much fun to play with. They’re like little otters that you can play with as much as you want! And that will lick your nose.

This is shortly before I put away the phone and collected my nose-lick.

Caturday Supplement: Calico

One of the houses I walked by recently had a guard cat!

She was actually rubbing against the bars, trying to tempt me to come give her more petting.

Dog of the Day: Foooofly Wiener

Posting is going to be pretty spotty for the next week: I am super busy and have also recently (momentarily) dislocated my right thumb. Which is a bad combination.

On the other hand, a long-haired miniature dachshund and a golf cart? GOOD combination.

He barkbarkbarked at me until we were introduced. Apparently wherever that cart goes is automatically his territory.

He was still a bit skeptical afterwards, but willing to meet me halfway.

Dog of the Day: Bloodhound

Haven’t seen nearly enough of these pups on here.

We should come up with a more pleasant name for these guys than ‘bloodhound’, even if it is appropriate for Halloween. How about ‘velvet-eared cuddler’?

Dog of the Day: Great Pyrenees

Surely this must be the very queen of floof!

I wonder if she’s a nervous sort and that’s a Thundershirt-style thing, or if it’s just an alternative to a halter.

Caturday Supplement

A kitty I met today! She was impatient with my photographic shenanigans and eager to have her cheeks rubbed.

Obviously vicious guard cat.

See? LOOK AT THE TEEFS!

Dog of the Day: Iris the Happy Berger Picard Tripod

Iris lost her leg in a tragic high-speed collision. No, she wasn’t hit by a car: she hit a rock at high speed. I would say ‘fortunately it hasn’t slowed her down any’, except in this case it’s more like ‘fortunately it seems to have slowed her down a little bit’ since she still has her three other legs!

PS: Wow, is this really our first berger picard? Still having firsts after all these years.

Three-Legged Berger Picard

Yes, there’s another leg back there.

Dog of the Day: Joy the 16-Week-Old Bernese Mountain Dog

I took these last year… how did I forget to post them until now? Joy was only sixteen weeks old in these pictures and had just graduated from San Francisco Puppy Prep. And man, she was proud as heck!

I got to give her a liver snap. Yum!

Sunday Switchup: Unusual Planter

These folks have marigolds in planters next to their front porch, which is concrete and raised about three feet off the ground. There’s a crack in the front porch, too. Which they have also planted a marigold in. I love it.

Caturday Supplement: Two MilwauKitties

Is it Caturday? Sure didn’t seem like it… I worked all day today, and then come home to try to deal with furnace problems in my RV before it got down to 27 degrees (Fahrenheit, natch) tonight and froze all my water. And to think I was going to do laundry tonight.

Instead, meet two kitties. The piebald (black and white) is Willow, and the supremely goofy one is Punkin.

Willow makes a great fuzz therapist, and a dandy paperweight too!

Goofy-Looking Tiger Tabby Cat

The position is funny enough, but look at that cat’s expression. Pure goof.
