I don’t know if anyone still checks this site, but I wanted to say this dog is gorgeous! We recently rescued a pup we were told was a beagle mix. Fast forward to a Wisdom DNA panel, and she’s actually 50% treeing walker coonhound. This perplexed me, though, because nearly all pics of TWCs show mostly white marking. Our Sophie looks SO much like this good dog right here! Maybe it’s just a less common coloration. So beautiful.
I don’t really know if anyone still checks this site either, but I’m still adding to it, so I sure hope so. 🙂
It’s not an unusual color combination at all, although the ones with a lot of white seem to be somewhat more common. The breed standard allows for black-with-markings, classic tricolor, and white-with-markings, and the markings can be pretty different. You can see all the different ‘breed standard’ possibilities here: https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/treeing-walker-coonhound/ if you scroll down and click on ‘Colors & Markings’.
Any pictures of your pup online? I’d love to see ’em!
