Wally is a fuzzier-than-usual Chinese crested. I ran into him at the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market, where there are so many feet that he has to be really careful. Or dad needs to hang onto him!

I ran across these two horses (and also a person) wandering through the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Their names are Adagio and Mio, and they are 23 and 22 years old respectively. (I did not, alas, note which one was which, but I think the bay — the one with the black mane — is Adagio.) When they were younger they were endurance horses, and competed in the Tevis Cup. Not something I’ve ever heard of, but apparently it’s big in horsey circles, and they are quite proud of themselves.
Now they’re retired, but they still get plenty of exercise and fun, and also plenty of scratches from newfound friends like me, in some of the prettiest spots in California. Which makes me happy. That’s how I’d like to retire!

Whaaaaaat? ANOTHER new breed for the blog? Sure is! Gordo, aka @gorditogorgeous, is a six year old Greek shepherd, a breed I’d never even heard of before I met him.

I thought all the gold was in Fort Knox, but when I was wandering through Fort Bragg looking for a pancake breakfast, I spotted this pup. He wasn’t entirely pleased to see me: apparently his job is guarding the yard. Poor pup, you missed out on a heck of a belly rub if I do say so myself!

Humboldt Redwoods State Park sure is pretty.

Ha, see what I did there? I ran into Once a second time last week, and he was being just as adorable this time around as he was the first time.

What, TWO corgis (or part corgis) in a ROW? How lucky are we? Daisy is six, going on six months. Just like every corgi.

Not sure about the breed mix, and I didn’t get a name, but there’s definitely some corgi in there!

Remy is four months old, and has the most ridiculous skwooshy face EEEE!
