Alas, poor Tidus. He passed away last Sunday, at the ripe old age of nearly-fifteen. He had a pretty amazing run, especially considering how badly he injured his spine. Even up until a few weeks ago, he was doing amazingly… when I took him for a walk, he was no different than he had been three years ago. Which is to say, incredibly reluctant and ridiculously stubborn for the first two blocks, and delighted and chipper for the rest of a good mile or so, round-trip.
I’ve been thinking about why Tidus’s death has affected me so deeply, and I’ve come to the realization that he really is the dog that I’ve really known for the longest in my entire life. I first met him through his front gate, where I for a while said hello to him every morning when I walked or jogged to work. When I met Anh, I got to visit with him more often, and when Autumn started pet-sitting, Tidus was one of our first customers, and I got dog-sitting duty quite early on.
I guess what I’m saying is that I’m going to miss the heck out of that obstinate, adorable little fuzzball.
Goodbye, Tidus. I’ll miss you so much.
So sorry for the loss of your little friend. They take a piece of our heart with them.
They do that.
RIP beautiful Titus. ??
I’m so sorry to hear this. RIP Titus :c
Oh goddammit now I’m tearing up all over again. Best corgi ever.
You love him, he loves you – he will always be with you because, as you know, true love never dies. He will always be a smile on your face and the light in your heart! Cherish that!! Corgis are magic – he lives on ;-}!
Dear Adam: I am moved to tears with your beautiful heart-felt tribute for our sweet Tidus. I’m sorry I didn’t write sooner. It’s been very hard. We all have missed him so much. I look for him every morning and every night. There is not a corner in our cottage that doesn’t remind me of him.
We feel very blessed though to have had him in our life for 14+ years. Dear sweet loving smart stubborn Tidus may be gone, but our love for him will live on forever. You know he’s watching and herding all of us right now.
And tugging us back towards home.
I always liked to look at photos of Tidus, because I had my own Tidus the Corgi. I lost my Tidus shortly after your Tidus passed away. My dog was 15 1/2 and he passed February 02,2018. We really loved him. Now have Herbie and Tommy, but they will never replace Tidus. Very special dogs. Still makes me sad.
Aww, so sorry for your loss. Any pictures of your Tidus (or Herbie or Tommy) online? If so, leave some links here, we’d love to see them!
Unfortunately, I only have JPG images in my pictures on my desk top. I tried to copy and paste them and it didn’t work. My husband says he’s too busy to help me resize them. So.. not sure if my son can help me later. I haven’t seen him lately due to the covid situation. Hopefully I’ll be able to send them some other time.
Well, if your son can help you out, that’d be great! You could also try uploading them onto imgur.com and then sharing the links here, it’s not too terribly difficult to figure out, although sometimes it can be tricky to figure out if a link works once for other people or just for you.

Tidus is in the Santa Suit, also photos of Herbie and Tommy. Tommy is the one by the tree. I had to play around with Imgur to figure it our. My son is still out of town,
Oh my gosh, those are some cute pups! Tidus looks so sad: “MOOOM WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!” Haha. 😄 And Tommy has got that amazing goofy corgi grin.
One of the things I miss the most is playing with Tidus and our Pack Rat Puppet. Tidus would drop a tennis ball in front of the puppet, tease the puppet and snatch the ball away from the Rat, then let the Rat have the ball again. It was such fun. Miss and loved that Dog!

Haha! That’s awesome. Sharing his ball with his friend!
