Dog of the Day: American Cocker Spaniel

Is it just me, or does this guy look like he’s wearing fuzzy chaps? (Another example here.)

One more pic, after the break.

Poofly leg fur? Check. Ridiculous long ears, almost long enough to trip over? Check. Tiny stubtacular tail? Check. Got to be an American Cocker Spaniel.

My grandmother's cocker spaniel is one of the few dogs I've ever been really afraid of. If you get near her food, she'll shank you. Seriously. Fortunately, this gal was a little more easygoing... she doesn't take people's fingers along with the treats they're offering.

Where’d you see this guy? I wondered if it was near Crocker Square. Growing up around here, Crocker Bank offered the gift of Crocker Spaniel stuffed toys. My brother and I each had one. Nice observation with the chaps!

Yep, that’s it! I remember the nose being different, but that could be the photo angle. My brother called his “Ralph”, but I don’t remember what I called mine.
