Double Dog Day: Moose the Miniature Australian Shepherd and Yuki the Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog Mix

I’m not sure if I should believe my notes or my eyes. My notes say that Yuki is an Australian shepherd/corgi mix, but those eyes! (Not to mention the ears and the coloration.) He totally looks like an ACD to me.

This is the clearest picture I got of those eyes. No touch-up was done… that’s the natural color. You can spot them from a block away.

Yuki was both quite shy and eminently distractible.

I love the mischievous expression.

Yes, but look at those limbs – rather short if there isn’t a Corgi in the mix. Darling, though, both of them!!

Defiently a corgi and shepherd mix, australian cattle dogs never have blue eyes he had to get those from the australian shepherds. Also the ears make me think he is half shepherd because shepherds have more floppy ears while cattle dogs ears are erect and that’s why his ears fall at the top (the combination of pointy ears from the corgi and floppy from the shepherd)

Australian cattle dogs rarely have blue eyes (the exceptions being blue heelers, since the blue merle gene can cause blue eyes or heterochromia, and double-merles (almost?) always have two blue eyes. But this guy clearly doesn’t have the blue merle gene, so that doesn’t apply.)

However, there are plenty of corgis with blue eyes! And plenty of corgis with ears that don’t always stay up, too. I dunno… either one is certainly possible.
