Some sad news: at somewhere between nine and ten years old, Dasja, one of Autumn’s first and most floofy customers, has passed away. She will be missed; even though Autumn and I only knew her in her later years, when she’d slowed down quite a bit, we both really liked her.
When I was dog-sitting for the two of them, it was sometimes difficult to peel Jemma (her younger sister) away from my side, but when I could, and Dasja was willing to let me pet her for a while, and give me a wag or two and a doggy smile, I always felt blessed. So, goodbye, Dasja, and I’m glad I got to meet you.
Wonderful quotes! She has such a precious face. You and Autumn were indeed fortunate to have been her friends.
Thanks. I definitely agree.
I am so sorry for your loss Dasja’s owners and those who knew her. I remember the earlier posts featuring her and she was a lovely joy, a real pleasure to get to know via internet. RIP
She was sweet as can be and a lovely dog. I hear she was quite something in her younger days, too, even if she was a bit slow-moving when I got to know her.
Thank you, Adam for the beautiful post! Dasja absolutely LOVED both you and Autumn. We were lucky to have her for almost 9
years.
You were very lucky, and she was lucky to have people who loved her so much and treated her so well.
So sorry for your loss, but the love she gave you will linger on forever! We have our second Berner and she is not quite 5. She’s really big for a female. Our last one lived to an unbelievable 12! We’re hoping that Sophie may do the same, but know that between
7 to 9 years is the normal standard. They are the best dogs, I hope you’ll share your love with another!
They did! Check out Minka, their new puppy as of last October. So adorable!
