I didn’t get this pup’s name, but that’s Autumn’s hand. She just put out her hand and the pup laid her chin in it and was like ‘do you love me now?’ And we all said ‘YES!’

I ran into James Joyce (9 years old!) so long ago that I barely remember, which is to say, Before Covid, back in 2019. And I am delighted to tell you that he is looking just as happy and healthy now as he was when I first met him, which is just amazing for a wolfhound. I bet part of it is his friend Mary (8 months) helping keep him young.

Frankie (2) is a local celebrity: he gets out and about a lot, and apparently he has a tiktok account but I can’t find it. Probably a typo on my part. Sorry, Frankie, but at least you have a new social media presence here!

Snickers (3) is somehow bigger than many Bernese mountain dogs, at a whopping 110 lbs. He could tow you around town in a wagon. He could tow you around Lake Merced water skiing.

I love Stormy’s name, and also his velvety-soft (4-year-old) ears.
I still have a few more pics from the dog surfing competition to post. Soon, I promise.

I ran into this cutie while I was out for a wander on Russian Hill. She’s only 1, but she’s fearless!

A friend of mine is currently dating a woman from San Diego. I have never met her, but I have now met her dog, who my friend brought up to the Bay Area while she was out of the country. We brought him to the Surfing Championships, where he had a blast.

Rosie won the human/dog surfing section of the great surf-off. She’s a local favorite, from Santa Cruz, and has a pretty neat instagram.
You can tell from the pictures that she loves what she does. Also, big shout out to her dad, who had to fight some really harsh waves during one of the competitions just to get out far enough for Rosie to get a run in. Looked exhausting.
