I love it when this happens: someone ran across a picture of what she is sure is her cat on my blog. Apparently someone put up a couple of Macy’s window kittens up for adoption on craigslist in March, because they couldn’t handle them. The family who responded to the ad has had them since then, and one of them, Karen, was poking through Google for pictures of Macy’s window kittens that looked like them, and found one of them (the black one) here. The other one may or may not be the one curled up in the first picture here.
I love hearing about the adoptable animals I post, especially the Macy’s window kitties and pups, finding happy homes. Karen mailed me a few pictures of them, nine months old now, and, as she says, ‘still bundles of furry fury.’ Their names are Emma (tux) and Ender (black, and the name is apparently a minecraft reference, picked by the kids of the family).
Yay, my celebre-kitties! Ya know, Emma’s name used to be Macy. I wonder how many pets end up with that name from the Macy’s Holiday Windows?
That’s a good question. I’ve run into two. I also ran into one that was named Baylie, because she was born while going over the Bay Bridge!
Oh, and the iPad… I think they do make apps for cats, actually. She will just watch the kids’ cartoons on the iPad, though. In this photo, however, she had fallen asleep like that, and I thought it was funny, like she was saying, “MY ipad!” We’ve had a lot of fun with the Sphero, a ball you control with the iPad, that rolls, shakes, vibrates, changes color, etc. Ha… remember when cats were content to play with a ball of string?
I can tell you, the cleanup was a lot more annoying once they got done with the string. Or, in my case, the long plumey blue-dyed feather. I was picking little bits of feather out of the carpeting and upholstery for weeks.
The last picture made me think that Ender didn’t want the bed made as he was not finished sleeping in it yet! Your cats are both really cute.
Ender seems to know exactly whose bed it actually is…
