Double Dog Day: Bud and Cali the Nova Scotia Duck-Tolling Retrievers

This breed gets my vote for whackiest name: it conjures images of toll gates in the sky.

The usual excuses apply: it wasn’t fully light outside, the light was at a bad angle, my camera sucks, I am a terrible photographer, and so on. Some of the pictures at least turned out well enough that you could identify these two in a lineup, I think.

Their mom is a big dog-fan, who was talking about wanting to do a San Francisco dog book. The more, the merrier!

This, I think, is Cali. I can't tell for sure: my notes say that Cali is the smaller one, but none of the pictures with both of them turned out.

Assuming I'm right about the above, then that means this is Bud. Note the larger amount of white foofliness at the chest.

    Hi guys,

Ever since you featured our black & white puppy (the nameless one that became Luna), we have checked your site on a weekly basis. I keep reading you need a better camera. Contact me — I might have a (FREE) solution. I just bought a new point & shoot and my old one needs a home. Its a point & shoot, so I’m not sure if that’s what you want.
