Dog of the NATIONAL PUPPY DAY: Burger the 11-Week-Old Chihuahua/Pit Bull/Dachshund Mix Puppy

Can you believe I just found out this morning that it is National Puppy Day? And I even posted a puppy yesterday. Well, two puppies in a row is, shall we say, not too much of a tragedy.

Oh man, the teeny tiny puppytongue does it to me every time.

He was totally hyperkinetic. Even on the super-bright day, I couldn't get any pictures of him that weren't blurry until mom picked him up.

He's just the right size to fit into the outside pocket of my backpack.

Look at those sharp little puppy teeth.

I have the exact same pup (almost identicle)
I have a question mines only 8 weeks and wants to bite everythinggg and fingers and toes…did yours have the same problem?
Also if hes bigger now post some pics! Because Im really curious as to what my babyboy will look like older he gets…Im hoping he doesnt get longer like a dachshund.

Well, it’s not so much that they get longer, as that their legs DON’T! And it depends a lot on how much of your pup is dachshund. If he’s half dachshund, there’s a pretty good chance he’ll inherit the short legs, but if he’s only a quarter, there’s a better chance that he won’t.

As for the biting, that’s not at all unusual. Expect it to get worse in a month or two, when he starts seriously teething, for a couple of months. But you can teach him not to bite too hard… there are a bunch of web pages on it, just google search for ‘how do I teach my puppy not to bite’.

I have a quick question.. so what exactly is the breed of your pup mine looks exactly the same she’s only a month old and I can’t seem to find the specific name of breed type. It’s also my first time having a pup so I’m struggling lol..

Chance is a Chihuahua/pit bull/dachshund mix! Of course, it’s really tough to identify dog breeds by sight until they’ve grown up, so your pup could be just about anything.
