He looks very similar to my dog Poppy. She has the same stumpy legs and if Louie was all black and had a slightly longer nose I’d be confused 🙂

He looks just like our beloved Sassy who past away last Jan 5th. She was 17 years old respectfully. We miss her so very, very much. She was long haired dachshund and border collie and smart as a whip! My husband even taught her to say “i love you”, if only i had thought to get it on video!! I suppose I thought she would live forever.
Take lots of video, pictures don’t do them justice once they are gone.
Do you know what border collie mix your dog Louie is? We just lost our dog, , maverick, 2 days ago to a bad seizure. Maverick was 10 and a clone to your dog, exactly the same; fur, color, markings and size. Maverick was a rescue pet from ohio so all they said is that they thought he was a border collie/ corgi mix. When we google pictures they look similar but not quite right. Your Dogs picture showed up and I know now there are more of his breed out there. We would love to find another little Maverick, he was the best dog ever. Sweet, mellow, and great with our kids. If you know anything about their breed we would love it if you could let us know. Thank you and hope to hear back.
My best guess for Louie would be border collie/dachshund mix, although that’s on pretty scanty evidence, just those two photos. If you have any pictures of your dog online, post links here, and Autumn and I will take a look and see if we have any better guesses.
Sorry to hear about your pup! Yeah, he could well be a border collie/corgi, although most of the ones I’ve met have had less floppy ears than this one did.

Wow, 17! I’m very sorry to hear of your loss, but, honestly, you had a really great dog for a really long time. I think that makes you a lucky person.

Looks just like our dog who passed away. He was a Borgi. Border collie and corgi.
