Dog of the Day: Maruka the Ridgeback/Pit Bull Assistance Dog

If you think pit bulls are scary, then you should be terrified by Maruka: she’s 3/4 pit bull, and 1/4 of a breed that was created to kill lions. Vicious! Nasty! Eeeeeeevil!

Some of the assistance dogs you meet in SF aren't the best trained. Maruka, on the other hand (or paw), is the soul of composure.

She was also very alert for opportunities to assist.

Well… mostly alert. Yawn!

  3. jaine oaks says:

when he turns like 15 to 18 months split the puppies cuz i want to bread him with another rhodeasian ridge back

Maybe you guys should adopt and not breed…And save some animals lives.

  5. Meme says:

I’m sorry but do you want to breed the animales or turn them into bread ? Spelling works

    • Adam Lang says:

      I’m sure he meant bread!

(Also, you do realize you just criticized someone’s spelling, and misspelled ‘animals’ yourself in the same sentence? You also kind of messed up your punctuation. Seems like maybe there’s a saying about glass houses and throwing stones that might be a bit appropriate here.)

My dog is your twin- she has little known about her. Her name is Skye. I’ve Googled as much as I could. Please let me know how I can better help her with her with her timid mess of thunder, fireworks and brooms (I think that was before she was surrendered) I would never hurt an animal…. She is big, sweet and scared.
