A week and a bit ago, I visited kitty heaven: KitTea, San Francisco’s first (and thus far only) kitty cafe. It is a serious mecca for cat lovers, and also a pretty good time for anyone who wants to unwind a little after the stress of a long day, week, or, say, decade.
They have a little cafe where you can get tea, coffee, and a few little food items. (The waffle with strawberries, syrup, and melted brie, for example.) And then they have a room full of cats, from little kittens up through full-grown purr experts. You pay for an hour (or half an hour, but come on, who is going to go to a kitty cafe and only stay half an hour?) and you go in and you play with the kitties. Or, if you’re like me, you go in and you take so many pictures that you forget to play with the kitties at all, so you are forced to go back again soon without your camera.
Best of all? All the cats are adoptable, except for the ones who have already been adopted and are just awaiting pickup. (Those are the ones wearing the snazzy bow ties.)
Seriously. If you live in San Francisco, you owe it to yourself to give KitTea a visit. If you don’t, then I expect to see you there next time you’re in town.
I had a lot of pictures I liked, and I spent quite a bit of time editing them. So I figured it was better to just post them all without spending an extra few days trying to come up with captions. So we’ll just ssshhh and try not to bother the kitties.
Oh my!! How could you bear to leave?!? I love the calico and tortoiseshell kitties. Beautiful!!
I know, right? I’m seriously considering a season pass…
