Black dogs are tough to take pictures of. Features tend to disappear, whether in sunlight (where weird contrast effects make white highlights out of random parts of the coat, and where details disappear entirely in shadow) or shade/overcast conditions (where there’s not enough light to make out the details in the first place.

You managed to do much better with the eyes than I can ever do with all-black dogs!
By the way, I’m passing along an award:
Woah, I was going to say — Kiba looks VERY different in that top pic! Then I kept reading. =)
Also, I want to pass on an award:
http://shibasenji.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/versatilebloggeraward.jpeg
The award says you’re supposed to make a post listing 7 seven things about yourself, then pass it onto 15 other bloggers. I know that’s a tall order. The award is yours, even if you don’t pass it along. =)
Well, thanks, I’ll take a look at doing that when I get home.
As for 15 other bloggers… yeah, that’s a pretty tough one. Most of the blogs I read, this would probably be pretty well ignored.
I just noticed my messy cut-and-paste job above. *blush* Just ignore the parts that make no sense.
The awkward part about these blog awards is not so much accepting them (always nice to be acknowledged) but passing them along. I was always the type to toss chain letters and hit delete on “FORWARD THIS TO 20 BILLION OF YOUR FRIENDS” e-mails, myself… =)
