I remember when I was a kid I used to wander around poking at milkweed pods and playing with all the cute little beetles. As far as I know they don’t exist out West, and I don’t think I ever saw them around where I went to high school either, but I sure did see plenty in Michigan and Massachusetts.

She lives with two large hyper dogs. I wonder if cats can get PTSD. “Pet Traumatic Stress Disorder”?
Kai is just about the least concerned basenji ever. How can I tell? She doesn’t have the forehead wrinkles! What she does have, however, is an instagram page that contains at least one schnozz-only shot.

There’s a ring to the name of Rosie, a ring ding ding to the name of Rosie…
Rosie is a schnauzer/poodle mix, and she’s 4 years old. She is a volunteer therapy pup, helping people at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City who are nervous about getting surgery, whether it’s them getting it or their family or friends. What a good dog!
That’s a very… intense expression.

I wish I could get a shot of a cat actually using this thing. It’s a cat treadmill/hamster-wheel, but all they do — lazy kitties! — is lay around in it.

I love the fact that all of them look really serious except that one in the back that is giving me the side-eye and grinning.
Funny: it seems like dachshunds and corgis are the breeds that are most likely to be named after food. Pizza (2, and a boy) did not tell me why he was named that way, but I bet he’d like some nevertheless.
