Autumn sent me one more bird from Ireland: this is a barn owl, which is known in the Irish language as a “Scréachóg reilige”, or “graveyard screecher”. I dunno, I think “barn owl” seems a little more… dignified, somehow.

Dog of the Day: Pringles the Pembroke Welsh Corgi

All the best corgis fall into one of two groups: those that are named after food, and, well, those that aren’t since all corgis are the best corgis. But Pringles (8, a girl) obviously falls into group one.

I rambled around San Francisco today: went to drop off some old sneakers at a place that recycles them into playground equipment, then off to the farmer’s market, then brunch, the drug store, and back home. And I ran into several dogs, as usual. But not as usual, I ran into TWO CATS. What a perfect Caturday!
