A pair of cuties from the Macy’s windows for you! I’m going to have a chat with the folks who plan the windows soon: they really need to plan the displays better, so that pictures taken from the outside don’t suffer such unsightly reflections. I’m convinced we can find a way around it.
Socks! The marmie must have been thirsty, she was drinking in every picture I have of her.
I’m a little worn out. Been planning a trip, prepping for it, stressing out about it. I’m going up to British Columbia, up I-5, over the course of three weeks, and then hanging out up there for three weeks, and then going down the Pacific Coast Highway, for two weeks. (Still working, remotely, and posting, remotely, so don’t worry, you’ll still get your dogs!)
Marcel does a lot more work than I do, and he seems to be a lot more energetic than I am. So unfair! Of course, he’s only four months old, so I guess it’s not an entirely fair comparison.
I ran into Teddy in December, and then again yesterday, and I decided to post her right away. Teddy is 5, and friendly and happy. Her mom (the daughter of the woman in the picture) had another Havanese before him, a suuuper smart pupper who trained himself to be a seizure alert dog — before his mom even knew she had seizures! It worked out amazingly well, and after he passed on, they got another Havanese in the hopes that she would be able to do the same thing. Well, Teddy does try, but so far she hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it. Don’t worry, pup, we’re sure you’ll manage it any day now!
I really like this picture. Didn’t even have to trim it!
Oh, Clementine, Can’t you tell from the howls of me? This love of mine Calls to you from the bowels of me. Are you discerning The returning Of this churning, burning, yearning for you?
(Hey, I didn’t say it was great, I just said it was inimitable.)
Clementine (1) is, however, great. What an amazing breed mix!
Surprised I haven’t seen her before, she lives right near me and has for a while!
I woke up this morning feeling pretty bad. Just… so much going on, in tech, in the wider world, not a lot of it good. I’m mostly okay now, I guess. Thank goodness for dogs like Mr. Charlie (1) here.
Dolly (12) was outside the Macy’s puppy windows one day when I went, helping with the important donation-and-treat-collection tasks.
Dolly’s full name, her mom informs me, is ‘Dolly Rotten’. I would never call her that, even if she tried to bite my fingers off.She is definitely a sassy girl, though.
What better way to celebrate New Year’s Day than with a New Dog or two? Unfortunately it was absolute MURDER taking pictures of the window puppies this year, due to the reflections of the decorations. I did my best, though! Puppy New Year!
Yes, those are my hands. No, they do not usually look quite that red. have often wondered whether they can see out. Most of the time they don’t seem interested, but that may just be because people who can’t pet them aren’t very interesting.
It’s always tough to choose dogs for special days, but I ran into Barney in the square in front of the San Francisco City Hall yesterday, and I knew he was something special. He absolutely adored me — just like he absolutely adores everyone else, I gather — but was utterly uninterested in being photographed. Getting him to look in my direction was a real challenge. He left a few ounces of hair on my sweatshirt, much of which is still there. So I figured, what the heck, he’s a good boy. Let’s let him help ring out the old year!
Barney is a serious leaner. Which, with a dog of his mass, is a committment! For a camera-shy pup, his side-eye game is pretty spot on.Don’t they look adorable together?
So is her name, and supermutting and dancing are her games! So is 3, and may well be a basenji mix, because she doesn’t bark, she just makes funny ‘woo woo’ noises sometimes. Her dad thinks she might also be part coyote, and there are quite a few of those around the neighborhood where she was found, so that’s possible too! (So is a family member of Itachi, and shares his Instagram Of Cuteness.)
She sure is a fast-and-feisty pup!She has got to be absolutely exhausting to try to keep up with. Both she and her bro have one ear that alternates between flopped and erect. Super cute!
