Today hasn’t gone quite as planned, but I’m still here, and can still give thanks for friends (both of the human and canine varieties.) So here are some friends: the ever-awesome Jemma and her family, including her new (adopted) little sister, Minka.
(Incidentally, ‘gav’ is how you say ‘bark’ in Russian. Have to make it clear that headline is inexcusable, rather than simply inexplicable. You’re welcome!)
Edit: How embarrassing, I got the little one’s name wrong: it’s Minka!
I hadn’t seen Jemma in quite some time. This was her reaction when she saw me.
This was her face when she realized mom wasn’t going to let her run over, leap onto me, bear me to the ground, and sit on me.
A Berner and a Berner puppy being polite and attentive! (Yes, food was involved.)
Minka has slightly eviler eyebrows than I am used to on a Berner.
Oh god the ‘puppy fro’. (This picture was followed by a lot of puppy-petting.)
And this is what happened afterwards: Jemma got tired of being polite, came over, pushed me over backwards, and more or less sat on me until I hugged and petted her. (Needless to say, I loved it.)
Hilarious – you are such a pushover (literally). Happy Thanksgiving to you and Autumn and thanks for the blog!
I totally am. And I love it! Happy holidays, and thanks for reading and commenting! It always makes my day brighter, knowing that people are actually out there.
Wonderful capture of Berner expressions!! Happy Thanksgiving, if a bit late!
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you, too! Thanksgiving Day wasn’t terribly happy for me, alas (due to an untimely stomach bug) but the rest of the weekend was a lot of fun. My brother visited, and we rode Segways through the streets of San Francisco and watched dogs, otters, and sea lions.
