Is this really our first basenji? Hard to believe, but it looks that way. Candle doesn’t look nearly as worried as the typical basenji, does she?
Basenjis are sharp, in a lot of different senses of the word.
All right, she looks a little bit worried here. But still, nowhere near the usual level of brow furrows that basenjis can get.
Candle was being awfully good and posing nicely for us, so she got a treat.
Candle can be just as goofy as anyone else when the opportunity presents itself.
This pup was a target of opportunity… I saw her walking by just as I noticed the writing on the window. She was indeed a cute doggy.
Especially with that adorable spotty puppy belly. Aww!
And she looks so confused. Truly the hallmark of the boxer.
This poor little pup got hit by a car. Her dad was conflicted: he didn’t want to let her run around too much and maybe cause her legs to heal crooked or poorly, but if you don’t let an Italian greyhound run around at all, well, that can cause problems that may well be even more serious.
I will say, the pup seemed pretty happy. And oh my God did she look ridiculous.
She seemed to get around all right, mostly. Although just after I took this, she managed to slip and do a somersault. And land on her feet.
The other dogs didn't play too roughly with her, which was good. And may have been because even with the casts, they STILL couldn't catch up with her.
She was pretty adept at dodging, too.
Italian Greyhounds have such sweet faces.
And what utterly ridiculous ears.
No post today: Autumn got stuck in the East Bay and I had to go get her. Won’t be home until 1:30 or 2 AM, and the iPhone WordPress app is pretty nice, but it doesn’t seem terribly well-suited for photoblogging.
Ah well. Tomorrow.
Just a guess at her breed. I ran into this pup just today, and, curse the luck, without my spanky new camera. Had to use the iPhone. But she was so cute that I tried anyway.
Happy pup! (Well, she IS at the dog park, after all.)

Wiggle wiggle wiggle. She might have grass stains on her back, but at least she'll smell nice.

A pit bull puppy, and a couple of ‘anybody’s guesses’, in a pretty silly arrangement.
Something about this screams 'practical joke' to me. The guy on the right seems to be laughing at what he got the other two to do.
I have to admit, the only thing I thought of when I saw him was ‘he looks like a coyote mix!’
The only thing I can think when I see this picture is ‘TRANSLUCENT TONGUE!’
And in this one, all I can think is, ‘that’s a big lump on his bum’. Hope it wasn’t anything serious.
Here, he’s just finished playing with a standard poodle and is heading off to find a new playmate.
Just a guess at the Maltese mix. I was wandering around taking pictures when what did I see but an akita, headed my way. I think I may have seen this guy before.
Bear (and his dad) came right over, and I pointed my camera that way, since it was obvious he was going to be a great subject.
Bear was more than willing to be a photographic subject.
But then this little gal came over. Sorry, but I never got a clear shot of her face. And Bear had no idea how to react.
Bear was totally flummoxed. It was hilarious... this other dog just came up out of nowhere...
And then the Maltese mix (or whatever he is) proceeded to hug the heck out of Bear. For literally a couple of minutes.
I know what you're thinking. No, she wasn't trying to hump him. And get your mind out of the gutter. 😀
