Never run across anything quite like this before. I’d walked by it dozens, maybe even hundreds of times, but it was rarely if ever turned on. It’s a fountain of sorts, but instead of a stream of water it releases a fine mist. It makes it look kind of like you’re looking through one of San Francisco’s famous fogs, which is kind of nice since there are a lot fewer of those these days than there were 20 years ago. (No, really, it’s an official thing. Thanks, global warming.)
I’ve been a bit MIA this week. Mostly my fault although it didn’t help that: a) I had to run to Sacramento because I’m dogsitting Zoey again, which meant getting up at 5:30 AM. b) My phone’s charging port stopped working so it was pretty tough to get photos off of it, plus my normal white noise app is on my phone so I had to use my laptop instead. c) Some (unprintable) person who posts ‘sleep sounds’ on youtube decided that having theirs play commercials after five hours of runtime was a great idea. (You’ve never lived until you’ve been awakened from a sound sleep by someone telling you that your soft drugs might be full of fentanyl. I never got back to sleep, so that was a four-hour night of sleep, lovely.) d) Work stress. It is cool being the ‘super-duper expert’ on something, right up until that thing goes nuts and you have no idea why.
Still, though, no excuse, because I have all sorts of cute pictures. Including some new ones of Zoey!
As you can see, Zoey has a lovely back yard. Nevertheless, she also gets a nice 45 to 90 minute walk every morning before it gets hot. This is partly because Zoey needs the exercise, and partly because *I* need the exercise.
George? Well, I’ll allow it! George is 5 and is definitely part Chihuahua, but nobody’s quite sure about the other half. ‘Maybe some kind of terrier’. All rightie then.
The set of the jaw makes him look a little more pugnacious than he actually is.
Autumn sent me pictures that made me terribly jealous: a friend of hers in Ireland works at a bird rescue, and introduced her to some clients. I think this one is a red kite (Cúr Rua for the Irish-speakers among you).
Yup. New life goal discovered.Admittedly I’d be protecting my nose about now.
BA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA etc BATDOG! (Okay it’s funny to those of us of a certain age.) Batman is 1, and is a tireless fighter for justice and, y’know, treats and stuff.
Looks like a labradoodle, but who knows? Very poodly, anyway.Halfway through the photo session I noticed he was posed in front of Grace Cathedral, so I tried to get a few scenic shots. Didn’t entirely work. This one didn’t come out too badly though.
Hazel is 9, and… I dunno… Aussie golden maybe? Sooooo soooooft.
Hooray for fully convertible ears! That is the wildest partial heterochromia I’ve seen in a while! Also: immediately after this photo, Hazel attempted to insert her nose into my navel and did a pretty good job. Yay Hazel!
