I’m at the Maker Fair today, and forgot to post something from home, so y’all get a little something live from the fair: Duchess the 5-month-old standard poodle. She is in training for an important job, and I think she’s doing just fine. Even if she does get a little tuckered out sometimes.

looks like the bear from that old kids show, in dog form
Do you mean Fozzie Bear from The Muppets? Or some other bear?
Regardless, she sure looks a lot like Jasper, who I posted a few months ago.
Duchess seems like a very nice dog, but I wish someone would have her professionally groomed so she would look like a standard poodle. Poodles look wonderful when
properly groomed! Duchess could be gorgeous!
Eh, don’t look at me, I like the fluffy ungroomed look for poodles. 🙂
I like groomed poodles (they are so soft!) and the ungroomed look. When their hair is long like Duchess’s, it’s a huge pain to brush though! Poodle hair gets terrible tangles and mats. I keep my own poodle clipped fairly short, because I have no patience for brushing…
I never really thought about that. (Can you tell I’ve never had the actual opportunity to own a dog myself?) Does sound like a lot of work! And I definitely am not a big fan of the dreadlock poodle look.
Duchess looks awesome! What an amazing dog and she has a very important task too.
Isn’t she pretty? And for a dog that young, she was really taking very well to training. Calm, friendly but not too friendly, and very polite.
