Nikko (Japanese for ‘sunshine’) is a gorgeous two-year-old critter who I ran into just today. According to his dad, he’s mostly friendly unless you try to take his toy away.

These two weren’t seeming very attentive. I think they just wanted to be left alone.

I dropped by Macy’s on the first day of the new kittens-and-puppies display: Thanksgiving Day. Look who was there!
This kitten spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get out of the enclosure. I wonder how many escaped the first year they did this display?

Rilley is 5 months old, and is named after a character from Confederacy of Dunces. He is not a dunce (and the Rilley from the book is not, in fact, one of the dunces for which the book is named). What he is is a mix of a wide variety of herd-ivorous caninity: Australian shepherd, German shepherd, and probably at least a couple other herding dogs as well. And if his current size and floofy feet are anything to go on, he’s gonna be a biggun!
His fur looks wiry and scruffy. It is not. It is suuuuuuper soft.
Six years old, and surprisingly calm for a husky. But very friendly!
