Dog of the Day: Bosworth the Mini Poodle

Bosworth (7) has a great name for a dog. I have no idea who he’s named after but whoever it is they should be a dog.

He totally looks like the logo on my ‘iPoodle’ tee shirts!

Been a while since we’ve had a good snoot shot!

Dog of the Day: Twyla the German Shepherd Golden Retriever Great Pyrenees

Twyla (girl, 2) is an immigrant from Tijuana. She’s picked up the language right quick, though.

Okay, okay, but she looks like this WHILE she’s being petted and AFTER she’s been petted too.

Dog of the Day: Warner the Siberian Husky

Warner (1, male) has such distinctive markings!

(Don’t let on, but I think someone just got neutered. Hence the little shaved spot on his leg.)

The X by itself would be cool but the dots are something else!

ADOPTABLE Dog of the Day: Dr. Fred Shepherd the German Shepherd Mix

Dr. Shepherd (Doc to his friends) is 8 years old, and is quite a remarkably pleasant gentleman to be around. And he’s adoptable, from the Milo Foundation. There’s only one problem: he’s a people dog, not really a dog dog. He doesn’t hate ’em, he just isn’t entirely comfortable around them… he’ll give them a sniff and go on about his business. But when he’s in a shelter, he’s constantly surrounded by other dogs, and so he’s not at his best. It’s tough to get adopted when you’re feeling uncomfortable all the time.

Edit: I’m going to leave Doc up here for another day, just to give him a little more exposure. Quick, adopt him!

He’s a leaner, too. And a very calm presence. I would adopt him in a second.

Puppy of the Day: Goji the Australian Shepherd

Goji (5 months) is a silly boy!

Goji is going to be a BIG boy.

Man, that stare! I bet he could herd the hell out of a flock of sheep.

Dog of the Day: Disco the Samoyed

I ran into Disco (almost 2, boy) today down near the ball park, and since I had a samoyed yesterday too, I thought I’d buddy the two up.

Samoyed Looking Snooty
Despite the appearance here, he was definitely not aloof. Though he definitely was a floof.

Dog of the Day: Sumo the Zoomy Samoyed

Sumo is ELEVEN. That just boggled me. I was hanging out in the Post Office waiting in line, and Sumo was just capering around and acting like he was eleven MONTHS old. Except not as rude. But so happy and so energetic and just so sweet. I want a Sumo!

Samoyed In A Raincoat
This was back in February, and it was raining. Sumo also does not mind his raincoat in the least.

Fox of the Day: Yogi the Pomeranian

I maintain that Yogi (boy, 4) is a Fox-inna-Bag.

The world needs more doggie bags!

Dog of the Day: Borzoi

Two weekends ago I hit the ‘San Francisco DogFest’, which is really rather a small event, but it’s still fun. I met several dogs there, including this one.

Double Dog Day: Zoey and Filbert the Boxers

I’m dogsitting in Sacramento! I was a little ambivalent about it at first because I remembered these two as being… quite a handful, when I sat for them a few years ago. But I am happy to report that although they are still crazy after all these years, they are not in fact nearly as crazy, and aside from a little leash-tugging, which I can handle, and a whole lot of ‘accidentally’ stealing all of the covers and trying their best to shove me out of bed, which I can put up with — mostly — they are a lot easier to deal with. And a whole lot of fun, especially when I’m petting both of them and they are both wagging their entire bodies.

Large Brown Male Boxer And Small White Female Boxer
I am still working during the days, so I reeeeally don’t want to go home again when I take them out. So they are the beneficiaries of some very long walks.
