Caturday Supplement: Black and White Macy’s Kittens

It’s been a very long week, so have a couple of kittens who look just as tired as I feel. (I’m currently dogsitting a pair of cute pups, since Autumn is out of town. They’re no trouble, mostly, but they definitely have me sleeping less soundly than usual.)

Black And White Kittens Sleeping

I just need a night or two of sleep this sound.

Snoozing White Kitten

I bet this kitten doesn’t get up at 3 AM and howl at ambulances, either.

Dog of the Day: Mona the Border Collie Mix

Mona is the mascot/queen/official greeter down at the Fight and Fitness Gym. Fortunately for me, she didn’t put up a fight, although she does seem very fit.

Possible Border Collie Mix

Whatever she is, she’s a pretty one.

Possible Border Collie Mix

She looks like she has the canine equivalent of a milk mustache: she looks like she got her nose stuck in a half pint milk carton.

Dog of the Day: Cooper the Miniature Australian Labradoodle Puppy

Damn, I almost missed two days in a row! Well, it’s been a busy week. (And I’m going to be standing in for Autumn for dogsitting this weekend, so it’s looking like a busy weekend too.)

But I’d feel terrible if I neglected you that much, so here’s Cooper. No, he wasn’t named after ‘Mini Cooper’, although he is a mini-Australian labradoodle. He’s still a puppy, at 5 months old, but he’s not going to get a lot bigger than this.

Apricot Labradoodle With White Tailtip and Chest

Look at the splot of white at the tip of the tail.

Apricot Labradoodle Looking Bashful

Slightly shy look. I bet that gets all the girls. And guys. And other dogs.

A++++ dog. Would pet again.

Dog of the Day: Mojito the Golden Retriever Puppy

Autumn is leaving the city for a while tomorrow, bound on her annual pilgrimage to the cradle of Irish music in the United States, the Irish Catskills, in upstate New York.

The dogs in San Francisco are going to be heartbroken when they hear. Like this adorable puppy, who I ran into yesterday morning on my way in to work. You can tell she was just devastated by the news.

Golden Retriever Puppy

Not quite sure what the cowlick thing going on there is.

Bald Man Holding Golden Retriever Puppy

I wish Autumn could have been there to meet this pup. The squealing would have been ultrasonic.

Golden Retriever Puppy Smiling

Oh my god that expression.

Golden Retriever Puppy Licking The Neck of Man Who Is Holding Her

These two really do make a great pair.

Golden Retriever Puppy Sitting And Smiling

Mojito may just be the most photogenic dog I’ve run into in months.

I hope to be seeing more of Mojito.

Dog of the Day: Boxer Mix?

I’m not really sure. He looks kind of sad, though, doesn’t he?

Boxer Mix

Keeping a careful eye on me. Never know what I might do!

Boxer Mix Looking Sad

Like maybe walk away without petting him.

Double Dog Day: Spencer the Goldendoodle and Friend

Not sure who the ‘friend’ is, but that little white splash on the tailtip sure is cute!

Brown Unknown Mixed Breed Dog and Very Light Goldendoodle Playing

These two were adorable together.

Brown Unknown Mixed Breed Dog and Very Light Goldendoodle Playing

I love that expression. Doesn’t he look like a coyote?

Brown Unknown Mixed Breed Dog and Very Light Goldendoodle Playing

Dog play always looks so vicious. Look at those teefs!

Caturday Supplement: Where’d You Get Them Peepers?

I think I’ve used the tune before, but damn is it appropriate here. Orange eyes!

Black Kitten With Orange Eyes

Lovely eyes, a cute little black nosie, and perfectly pokeable paw-pads: this kitty got adopted real quick, you bet!

Dog of the Independence Day: Max the Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier Mix

I took pictures of Max on July 4th of 2013, so I thought I’d put them up today. He is very definitely an independent soul.

Happy big-boom day. Hope your dogs had a good place to hide from all the loud noises.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier Mix

Max was named after the dog in the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Can you see the resemblance?

Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier Mix

He also likes to herd. A fact which was pointed out to me, but which I also learned firsthand, because he tried to herd me.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier Mix

Another thing Max likes.

Hope you enjoyed your 4th as much as Max enjoys chin skritches.

Dog of the Day: Liberty the Pug Puppy

This is Liberty, aka Libby, the 5-month-old pug puppy. She was running up to bigger dogs and trying to get them to chase her. It was totally adorable. (Alas, all my other pictures of her are too blurry to post.)

Pug Puppy Looking Over Her Shoulder

She sure blends into the background, doesn’t she?

Dog of the Day: Bailey the Guatemalan Street Dog

I think this is Bailey, anyway. If so, he’s a 3-year-old (in this picture) rescued Guatemalan street dog, who unlike many rescued street dogs is simply in love with everyone who comes along.

Tan-and-White Guatemalan Street Dog

This is one of those mutts that looks like he was put together out of spare parts, but still manages to be totally adorable.

Tan-and-White Guatemalan Street Dog With Giant Plumy Tail

Look at that magnificent tail.

Tan-and-White Guatemalan Street Dog With Half-Red and Half-Black Nose

You don’t see the stripey nose on dogs without a fur stripe very often. I would have bet this was a recessive red dog, but the tail has black in it. Puzzling!
