So I saw Hendrix coming and I said, “Wow! Okay, I bet he’s half Lab, right? Let’s see… what’s the other half… hmmm…” And his mom said that he was indeed half Lab, and that the other half was also Lab. But he’s 105 pounds and none of it is fat. He’s huuuuge!
He’s eight years old, and greying some around the muzzle. Seems to be doing quite well so far.

We’ve seen this puplet before: it’s Zoey, the Pomeranian/Chihuahua/dachsund mix. She’s all grown up now, but she still fits handily in mom’s pack.
She bears a distinct resemblance to the fennec from the 1st, doesn’t she?

Oh man. I, uh, don’t want to suggest that this was actually abusive, because the woman walking this dog seemed to treat her quite well, and the dog obviously loved her, but… who would shave a Westie?

Not really sure what breed mix this guy was. And I only saw him through a fence, unfortunately. But he was awfully cute. Maybe someone else can help me out here?
Look at those ears. I’d say he was some kind of German shepherd mix but he was so tiny. Not much bigger than a Chihuahua.
I guess he could be a puppy? Didn’t act much like one though.
I’m dogsitting Watson, and I decided to be a little cruel and get some pictures of him dressed up for Easter. Sadly, it’s kind of tough to both keep the clothes (mostly the hat) on him and take the pictures. Plus I forgot to bring my SLR. Next time I’m going to do a photo shoot while his mom and dad are around, and plan for it beforehand.
Plus, that way I can get some pictures of his new circus tricks, and of him pulling a tiny cart. (How awesome is that?)
Alas, you can’t really see the bow tie. It really makes the outfit.

I don’t think the hummingbirds ever entirely leave San Francisco, but when you start seeing them out and about, you know that spring isn’t far away.
I think even my experienced birder readership will have a tough time with this one. Silhouettes are pretty tough.
Oggie, at 48 pounds, is the biggest Sheltie I’ve ever seen. He’s named after Augie Doggie (with, obviously, a slightly different spelling) from the old Hanna-Barbara cartoon, which I now vaguely remember from my misspent youth.
Ran into him again yesterday evening, and realized I hadn’t posted these pictures yet, so I had to immediately fix this terrible oversight.
Oggie is definitely a big communicator. Both times I ran into him, he did a lot of barking. Just to let me know he was there.
First time I saw him, I couldn’t tell if he was a Sheltie or a collie. That’s how big he is.
Aww. I ought to collect all the pictures of dogs gazing lovingly up at mom/dad and make a dog-a-day calendar out of them or something.
This is not Sterling’s first brush with fame: apparently he’s been in a photo book of pictures of dogs and their families. Not sure which one, and I wasn’t immediately able to figure it out with Google, but if anyone happens to know, please do leave a comment.
Sterling is 12, although you’d never know it to look at him, or to play with him.
Every time I see a Bedlington, I think the same thing: with that poof of fur down the muzzle, how can they possibly have binocular vision?

I ran into Aizia outside of Yoshi’s last week. Such an adorable pup that, even though it was quite dark outside by then, I still had to try to get a few pictures. And if you can get past the evil demonic possession, they came out okay.
She’s only 7 months old, and already 40 pounds. I guess that’s pretty sizable for a female husky.
Never seen redeye like this before. Maybe it has to do with how lightly pigmented she is?
That’s mom. She is obviously head-over-heels for her pup. They’re going to do great together.
This fine fellow was in the spot marked ‘Dog Parking’ outside of Bi Rite Creamery, in the Mission. A totally awesome store, I might add. And not just because they have dog parking, although, well, that too.
The position this guy was flopped in was surprisingly silly-looking.
I think that’s his natural nail color. Kind of looks like someone painted them pink, though.
