I just had to post another picture of Molly. This one was taken by Autumn. Molly was being a goof in front of me and demanding attention, so I scooped her up and rubbed her belly. She seemed confused, but not enough that she wanted down.
Molly has very very short legs (probably due to the same genetic variant that makes corgies so stubby) but is… rather chunky. She does not fit in laps even as well as an average golden retriever. Not that any golden retriever is average, of course.
I thought they were saying ‘Sirius’ (like ‘the dog star’) but they were actually saying Cyrus. Either way, he’s an adorable 15-week-old Samoyed with a great attitude.
Jojo is a little pupper but I think he’s all grown up. Not sure though, since I was a bad journalist and was too busy petting Jojo to get his age.
It’s a three dog night here in Indiana. No, not cold: it was ten degrees warmer in Northern Indiana today than it was in San Francisco. Go figure. I just got to spend Christmas Day with three awesome dogs (and some pretty neat people too.)
When I was down in Monterey, someone gave me a message to give to you on Christmas Eve.
Don’t see a lot of standard dachshunds around these days, and wire-haired is rarer than either short- or long-haired, too. Plus Hugo is a puppy, just eight months old. He’s a rare breed, and looking sharp.
Squid is a pretty great name, but Squiddles may be in my top ten of all time for a happy five-month-old pup like this one here.
I’m back in San Francisco! If not yet back in my apartment, alas. And Cody (2) is also in San Francisco, and if you will be in San Francisco soon he would love to meet you. Yes, you.
Remi (2) is the resident Pembroke Welsh corgi at the Cayoucos Cellar wine parlor in Cambria, California. In what is surely one of the more disappointing events of my trip, Remi’s mom said I probably shouldn’t pet her, because she tended to react rather badly if someone else got near her with a dog, and that reaction would often include anyone who happened to be standing nearby. Hopefully they can work on that, because having a store corgi and then not allowing anyone to pet your store corgi is, I believe, against the law.
We haven’t had an un-mixed kelpie in almost ten years. Happily, I ran into Anne (11) the other day, and she was happy to sit for a portrait.
