This guy had just been left out in the rain. He didn’t actually try to bite me, but he wanted to make it clear to everyone nearby, including me, that he was not happy about this situation.
Two more pictures put below the break.

Well, Autumn and I missed the book signing, dammit. I woke up with the start of a cold, and I really can’t afford to have a cold at this point, so I decided to stay in bed for most of the day, and I guess Autumn wasn’t quite as interested as I thought she was, so she elected not to go. Ah well, maybe next time.
Anyway, a foofly wiener for you. Just one picture, because I’m still feeling crappy and need to get back to sleep.
First off, two reminders. One, Cesar Millan will be at Macy’s San Francisco at 1 PM for a book signing and other fun things. Two, even if you can’t get there for the 1 PM thing, they will still have adorably cute puppies and kittens in the windows all the way up through Christmas. (Possibly through New Year’s, I can’t remember.)
Second, these are some of the puppies from that window. Autumn thinks they’re Chihuahua/poodle mixes, and I’ll go along with that given my absolute lack of any clue. So cute!
Okay, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a full-grown dog that is as tiny as Chanel (who is 6 years old!) and is still so cute. Most of the super-tiny dogs I’ve seen are Chihuahuas and, well, I hope you’ll excuse me for saying that I just don’t find Chihuahuas super cute. Yorkies, though? Adorable. Especially this one.
Moved two pictures below the break.
He looks like he’s mostly lab, but there’s a subtle difference. Not even sure what it is. I love his expression, though.
These two were sharing the same car, although one was locked in the back and the other was attached to the front seat. Perhaps they got in too much trouble if they were left alone together? I like to imagine that last time they were both left in the front of the car, they drove it over to the House of Prime Rib and stood around outside the back door begging for steaks.
Just ran into him a couple days ago, but he’s so cute I just had to post him! (He sure has aged well… he’s over 11 years old!)
Hid a second picture below the break.
It seems that Cesar Millan, of ‘The Dog Whisperer’ fame, will be having a meet-and-greet and a book signing at Macy’s (in The Cellar), this coming Saturday at 1 PM. Autumn and I plan to be there.
More details are available here.
Well, I just took a quick look, earlier, and discovered that today is pretty much the one year anniversary of me starting this blog. I’m feeling pretty good about managing to stick to it fairly reliably for that long. We shall see what the new year brings.
In the mean time, here are my first pictures of Rupert, a golden retriever who lives in our neighborhood. We’ve run into him quite a few times but we haven’t gotten any pictures that are up to even my standards until yesterday.
(Four more pictures stowed below the break. They are worth the effort this time, I promise!)
I think of all mastiffs as English, because in every mastiff’s face I see the stereotypical old (and somewhat dyspeptic) Englishman. But here we have our first French mastiff: Sherman.
