I’m so lousy with identifying the small scruffy terriers. I really don’t know what this guy-or-gal is.

I don’t know, I just don’t know. I’ve seen quite a few Samoyeds in my time, and I’ve never seen one quite like Malia. Her coloration is a little darker than any I’ve seen before. (I’m not sure if it conforms to AKC or not… apparently they can be ‘biscuit’ colored, but it doesn’t appear that anyone is willing to define biscuit coloration.) I thought her proportions were a little off too, but the more I look at the pictures, and at pictures online of Samoyeds, the more I realize that I’m on crack. Oh, and that I’m wrong about the proportions, too.
That said, she’s ADORABLE! And fluffy and cute and cuddly and happy and just about everything you could want a dog to be. Except ours. Le sigh.
Oh, by the way, I’ve included my first ‘dog rap’ in the hovertext for the photos. Please take any criticism out and bury it in the yard. And I’ve now stuck five of the six pictures below the break.
Didn’t get home until after 1 AM last night, and didn’t have any pictures queued up, so I didn’t get anything posted until now… and now I’m at work. So here’s a quick apology corgi.
Don’t look now, but there’s a happy cocker spaniel coming your way! (Just one pic tonight, since I’m feeling lazy.)
Sammie was a perfect lady, even despite her temporary impediment. Beagle/Labrador retriever was her mom’s guess, but those ears just couldn’t have come from that combination, I don’t think. Plus, her body and her head are very similar to that of a foxhound. I don’t know what gives her ears that special little loft, though: must be from the other side of the family.
Dropped two additional pictures below the fold.
Ran into this pair on the way to work a couple weeks ago. They look pretty similar, but they’re apparently not related. Nobody’s sure what Buddy (black and tan) is mixed with, and the guess I heard for Gia was ‘dingo’. Could be, I suppose.
So yeah. This was posted November 3, so it appears that I have survived the election with at least part of my brain intact.
Two more pictures moved below the break.
I queued up this post Monday evening, so I wouldn’t have to bother (or bother you with my blathering) on Tuesday evening. So it is not necessarily evidence that I have survived the day.
Moved a second picture below the fold.
These two are twins, and full of sibling rivalry…
(Also, vote, goddamn it.)
(Also also, moved two more pictures below the fold.)
