Bunday Bewitchup: Alexis the Just As Great

I ran across someone walking her cute little bun a few days ago, and it turned out to be the little sister of Alex the Great!

She’s a lot littler than Alex, isn’t she? That’s because she’s only eight weeks old!

Bet she’s going to grow up to be a therapy animal just like her big bro.

Dog of the Day: Boo the English Bulldog

Oh NOOOO! I was going to post Boo on her third birthday, but that was the 29th of AUGUST and not SEPTEMBER. Oh where can I hide my face?

English Bulldog Under A Table Sticking Out Her Tongue
We have had a ‘Boo’ before on our site, but that wasn’t an English bulldog, it was a Velvety Land Hippo.

Dog of the Day: Cyrus the Basenji

Cyrus (6) looks very serious, doesn’t he?

Basenji Looking Demure
Been a while since we’ve seen a full basenji round these parts.

Dog of the Day: Rascal the Australian Cattle Dog Labrador Retriever Mix

Was poking through old pictures (from 2023) and discovered Rascal, who was 2 at the time, having a day out at the beach. I love his name.

I collected a few pretty rocks from that beach, too!

Sunday Switchup: Spotty Seals

The Pacitic harbor seal varies between black with white spots and white with black spots. I didn’t know that! So apparently that’s what these guys are.

I wish there were enough sunblock in the entire world to let me bask like that.

Dog of the Day: Cooper the Bernadoodle (And Bosco’s Twin)

Autumn and I took Bosco out for a hike in the Redwoods last month. We stopped for breakfast at a pretty decent spot in Montclair, where we found a dog that was the very spit and image of Bosco! In fact, they looked so similar that Bosco was mostly too busy wondering where the mirror was to have his usual hostile reaction.

But where Bosco is an Italian water spaniel, Cooper is a dilute-coat Bernadoodle, which I have rarely ever seen before. Coop is also a lot mellower than Bosco, as befits a Bernese mix.

Dilute Coat Bernadoodle
Mellow but definitely interested in both humans and dogs.

He was very sad to see us go.

Puppy of the Day: Taffy (Taffyta) the Approximately Spherical Pomeranian

Taffy is nine months old, and is spherical to a first order approximation, and is roughly 90% floof by unit volume. Some settling may occur in shipping. Do not squeeze.

Oh fine, go ahead and squeeze. She loves hugs.

If you make the right kind of noises you can get some pretty amazing puppy head tilt action going.

Puppy of the Day: Karl (the Fog) the Bernese Mountain Dog

As of a few years ago and a silly Twitter account, the fog in San Francisco has got a name, and that name is Karl. (Which is only fair, I mean if the rain is Tess, the fire is Joe, and they call the wind Mariah, I think Karl deserves a name too!)

And now enter this young (4.5 months) pooch, Karl the fog dog!

Berners are, I think, the owners of the most ridiculous puppy fro action.

Dog of the Day: Bosco the Repeatiest Repeat Customer Lagotto Romagnolo

We have been posting pictures of Bosco (ten!) since 2017. Not only does he look identical to how he looked back then, he also has just as much energy and enthusiasm as he did back then. This is roughly similar to a human being having as much energy and enthusiasm at my age as he did at age 18, and is deeply, deeply unfair.

Lagotto Romagnolo
Fortunately I get to dogsit for Bosco occasionally. It helps keep me young. Well… youngER, anyway.

Sunday Switchup: Egrets Both Great And Snowy

Admittedly I’m no expert, but I actually think that these two are different species! The one in the front has a yellow bill, which would make it a great egret, while the one in the back has a black one, which makes it a snowy (or a hybrid of some kind maybe?)
