Pomba from Kinshasa. Say it out loud: it just rolls right off the tongue.
Pomba makes a heck of a good goodwill ambassador.
Someone got an unexpected birthday surprise: she got to pet this fine pup.
The de rigueur nose shot.
Look at how pronounced that ridge is.
I don’t think I’ve ever met even a full Rhodesian with a ridge that pronounced.
I love Ridgebacks – I know this pup is a mix, but he had the beautiful coat of the Ridgeback and the sweet face as well!
Yeah, they’re really pretty, and super sweet. I do hear, though, that they’re not always the brightest bulb in the Christmas display, if you know what I mean. 🙂
They are EXTREMELY intelligent! I have a female Rhodesian Ridgebeack German Sheperd mix. And she minds, like, right-now! Have never had a problem with her, have never had to swat her. . .She is the easiest, sweetest , but most ferocious guard dog, ever! She is dog aggressive, but she gets along with and loves to play with non-altered labs, the best. She is so beautiful. . . everyone wants her!
Well, that’s awesome. I know that intelligence does vary widely, and I might have been unfairly biased by meeting a, shall we say, lovably dim example of the breed.
I just lost a Rhodesian Ridgeback German shepherd mix dog two days ago. I still can’t cope with it. She was the sweetest mellowest greatest dog I ever met in my life. We adopted her when she was 3 years old and she was with us for 11 years. I miss her tremendously… She looked a lot like your pup…
I’m so sorry for your loss, but I’m happy that you had an amazing dog who had a very long and happy life.
