Sunday Switchup: Slithery Sunbather

I need a little sunbathing. And since whether I stay here in Indiana (where it will be snowing again over the next couple days, ack) or go back to California (where the weatherman has had to trot out the infrequently used sigil for ‘smoke’ as the forecast for a while, and probably will be for the foreseeable future) it doesn’t seem likely. So here’s someone I ran across in my travels over the summer, out for a little bask in the sunlight.

Caturday Supplement: Bedraggled Visitor

I am hanging out with Autumn’s folks while the Lummox convalescences. A couple hours ago her mom walked inside from taking the dogs out, holding a kitten that she’d found standing on their fence. Bear in mind that it’s 22 degrees out.

Apparently the neighbors have outdoor cats who come to visit, and this one wandered away from the pile.

I got to cuddle her until she was nice and purry warm, at least.

Dog of the Day: Adobe the Husky Australian Shepherd Mix PUPPY??

I took a LOT of pictures of Adobe, because it was really dark outside when I ran into him. Good thing, too, because this is the only mostly-non-blurry one in the bunch. I really wanted to get some pictures of him, both because he is so unique-looking and because he’s actually only 8 months old. Hard to believe, huh?

Sunday Switchup: Marie the Woozle!

Saturday I met a woozle! (This is what many ferret owners call ferrets.) Her name is Marie, pronounced the French way. She is now my friend.

I almost waited for Woozle Wednesday, but I decided she was too cute not to share today.

Dog of the Day: Foooofly Wiener

Posting is going to be pretty spotty for the next week: I am super busy and have also recently (momentarily) dislocated my right thumb. Which is a bad combination.

On the other hand, a long-haired miniature dachshund and a golf cart? GOOD combination.

He barkbarkbarked at me until we were introduced. Apparently wherever that cart goes is automatically his territory.

He was still a bit skeptical afterwards, but willing to meet me halfway.

We should come up with a more pleasant name for these guys than ‘bloodhound’, even if it is appropriate for Halloween. How about ‘velvet-eared cuddler’?
