This kitten was SUPER social and loved gazing into people’s eyes. Downright weird for a cat, but I bet it gets him adopted really quickly.

Okay, Waffles is a strong contender, and Loki is certainly up there, but I’m not sure but that Ruckus might be my new favorite name for a corgi.
He also has an Instagram account. Although unlike him, it’s a bit… anemic.
I don’t know about new tricks, but this old dog had ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, and ‘come get this treat’ pretty well down pat.
Yugh. I was sick all day Friday and all day today. And now… I am feeling much better! I attribute it to the large amounts of garlic that I ate and the large number of zinc lozenges that I sucked on. This combination will not be doing my digestive system any good over the next 24 hours, but it is amazingly effective at shortening colds.
No, really: there’s some quite good evidence across several clinical trials that zinc lozenges work, and some not-quite-as-good-but-still-okay evidence for garlic: a bunch of semi-okay trials and one good one (that link is to a meta-analysis, here’s the good trial here). Unlike vitamin C, and all of those other lovely home remedies, which, well, let’s just say that evidence isn’t part of the package you’re buying. If you’re the type of person who gets colds (I’m usually not, these days) then do yourself a favor and try this out.
Anyway. Here is a kitty. For it is caturday, and we all deserve one.
I have been remiss in my dogly duties the past couple of days, so you get a puppy and a proud puppy-mom. Donatello is 11 weeks old in these pictures, young enough that he wasn’t even allowed to mix with other dogs (because he hadn’t had all his shots yet.)
I’ve run into this pup a couple of times now, and I think today is the perfect day to post someone so dignified and regal. Max is 4, and consider this picture of him dedicated to all of the brave and noble dogs who gave their lives in the service to their country. Or their masters. Or, for that matter, their puppies.
This is actually a yawn, but I prefer to think of it as a vicious murder cat snarl, because I am feeling a little vicious-murder-catty myself today.
Cody is eleven, but was out leaping around and having a blast in a park last week, so I guess he’s doing okay!
