Ka$h (yes, with the dollar sign) is 5 months old, and is very concerned about your wellbeing.
I don’t know how this one does it but that sad face is just too much.

This cat was luring in all who passed on the sidewalk. When dogs do it, it either involves a human or it involves them being tied to something, at least in San Francisco. But this cat just decided that hanging out on the sidewalk and collecting scratches behind the ears was the order of the day, and thus did so.
This is her wiggling around and generally making it very obvious that her back is oh-so-very itchy.
And this is the ‘why did you stop’ face.
Marlowe, a refreshing variation on the jumble of Marleys that I have run across lately, is eleven weeks old. He has all the usual parts a puppy has, including snorgly nose, pettable ears, and a ridiculously adorable puppybelly. In short, he must be stopped, before he brings the city to a standstill.
Hey, don’t look at me. I don’t stop ’em, I encourage them.
Last puppy-parvo shot is at 16 weeks. Somewhere between 11 weeks and then is when they can start playing with other dogs.
Until then, they tend to get carried around a lot. And look sad.
This is, apparently, ‘Pup’ the pup. Go figure. And when this was taken it was a week since she’d been adopted from a local shelter, and she was settling in beautifully.
Look at those ears. I don’t know about a Catahoula mix with ears like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Anna Marie. Anna Marie had a pretty tough start to life… she was found, an unknown herding mix dog. seriously injured on the streets of Galati, Romania. (Her full story is here.) Fortunately, she was picked up by a very humane sort of person, who took very good care of her, and brought her to San Francisco. And who started an animal rescue organization in her honor.
Ten years later, she’s still kicking around, and the rescue organization is still going strong.
Despite her early experiences, she turned out to be a sweet, trusting, happy dog.
Did I mention her injury was serious? It was a broken back, and a severed spine. Hasn’t slowed her down in the slightest.
I’ve never met a pup who has done so amazingly well with a broken back. Ten years and still going strong!
Stella (age 1) is a very dynamic individual!
Random stuff lying on the sides of the streets are a bit of a constant of San Francisco. Stella seems curious about it.

She was reeeeeally hyper. But not jumpy. A rare combination.
These paintings are up at the Airbnb building. They were painted by a woman who had to spend a fair bit of time in Airbnbs, for a year. These were the animal co-hosts who welcomed her.
Will update this with the artist’s info when I get a chance.
I think it might be fun, going Airbnb-hopping for a while.

I was going to say I like black cats, but honestly, I like pretty much any color.
This pup seemed so very happy to be bagged.
Such a sleepy pup.
Didn’t seem at all unhappy to be awakened, though.
This guy was at the dog wash, just like yesterday’s. And even for a dog-wash dog he was amazingly photogenic.
Whenever I go by Wags, there’s always a semicircle of people peering into the window.
It’s amazing how well all the dogs generally get along.
So noble.
He really did want to come say hello.
We stood and watched one another for a while.
