Dog of the Day: Accio the Shiba Inu

Accio (8, male) the shiba inu is, of course, named after the summoning spell from Harry Potter. (I asked specifically, because I’m a geek like that.) Apparently that’s because when they call him he comes over, which seems quite reasonable.

Accio was totally friendly, and apparently not at all hungry. Mom offered him a treat to make him pose, and he was totally uninterested.

Got to admit, I don’t run across many dogs who just pass up the treats.

Dog of the Day: Chef the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppy

I ran into two (2) adorable dogs on MUNI yesterday. One was Chef the adorable 8-month-old corgi puppy with his own instagram, and the other you will see tomorrow.

Chef was mostly being very good, but you could tell he really wanted to play with the dog across the aisle. He kept looking up at mom like ‘Can I NOW? PLEEEEASE?’

This is him gazing over at the other dog in longing.

Dog of the Day: Blue the Giant Floofy Husky

I ran into Blue and his dad today, wandering around Mission Bay. And I was my usual “Oh my god what a gorgeous dog” and his dad said, “Yeah, you took some pictures of him and then NEVER POSTED THEM hint hint hint.” So I took some more. And then I went and looked and wouldn’t you know it, the old ones are actually better than the new ones. I’d even started editing them, I just couldn’t narrow it down so I left it ‘for later’.

I’m bad like that.

Husky In Sunlight

Humongous for a husky. And very fluffy. And pretty!

Grinning Husky

I’ve almost never met a husky who was serious. Blue is no exception.

Those eyes.

And that expression. Reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes.

Caturday Supplement: Macy’s Window Kittens

Why post anything else?

Nobody cuddles like kittens. It’s just not even a contest. They look like they were POURED together.

Wait, does the one on the right have white socks but some black toes? And some pink toes/ And a pink nose? Why yes. Yes he does.

Dog of the Day: Macy’s Window Puppy

Some sort of wire-haired terrier-ish mix is my best guess. Super-playful and active, at least when I was there.

She had just been put back in the window after a potty break, so she gazed at that door for a few seconds to see if it would open again, and then noticed the people behind her.

Double Dog Day: Pepper the Pomeranian Toy Poodle Mix And Chihuahua

I have no idea what this gal was, but isn’t she cute? Those ears look like they should belong to a dog ten times her size.

Her friend is a little more readily identifiable.

Edit: A little birdie in the comments tells me that her name is Pepper and she’s a ‘pom-pom’: a Pomeranian toy poodle mix. I would never have guessed.

Grey Long-Haired Dog Of Unknown Breed

Soft fur, and more fluff than any two dogs need. Which is of course a different amount than they might WANT.

Yes, they really are the same species.

Dog of the Day: Doberman Pinscher

Doberman pinschers were the ‘big scare’ dogs before the pit bulls took over. As you can see, this one is determined to do his part to keep that misconception safely buried.

He was very, very patient with my requests.

Dog of the Day: Swayze the Christmas Corg

I’d call this one a preview too, except that I didn’t get much more in the way of pictures of this pup than just this one. Put him down on the ground and he is a complete blur.

A blur, I might add, with an Instagram account.

Swayze was a hit with everybody, and he just totally soaked up all that attention.

Dog of the Day: Macy’s Window Puppy

A ridiculously adorable fluffball. He spent all day in the window, but it was only because his adopter picked him out on the way to work and couldn’t pick him up until after work. I would’ve just taken the day off, personally. You have to have priorities!

Ungh. I can’t believe I STILL have this cold! I have had this cold for TWELVE DAYS. I haven’t had a single cold in over two years and now that I have one I may just HAVE a single cold for two years.

He was utterly puppy-hyperactive the entire time I was standing there. Which was not long enough.

Oh god don’t look directly into the puppy or you will melt.

He had at least five different toys in there, and played with every single one while I was watching.

Sunday Switchup: Reflections

I am endlessly fascinated by the way the windows of large buildings, and even some smaller ones, lend patterns to other buildings at various times of the day.

I really miss having a zoom lens. The camera on the bigger iPhone (2x zoom, anti-shake) really is the only thing I envy about it. If the smaller model doesn’t get the cool dual-lens camera for the next iteration of iPhone I’ll get another decent pocket-sized camera to go along with it. There’s a nice one I’ve had my eye on… but I’ve spent enough money on myself over the last couple of months.

This would have been a lot nicer with a zoom lens. Couldn’t get any closer without losing the angle or getting blocked.
