Oh good lord you have got to be kidding me.

Stella has an instagram account. You know you want to.

Coco (1 year) is not in fact named cocoa even though she kind of looks like she’s made of hot cocoa with marshmallows and whipped cream.
Mmm… hot cocoa… whipped cream…
And then once I got her attention it was quite a challenge to get her far enough from me to take pictures.
I have always loved this statue, in Yerba Buena Gardens near the convention center in San Francisco. It’s even better when it has just come from a convention.
This dog and this cat were utterly fascinated with one another, and looked like they would have cheerfully hung out and watched one another and occasionally tilted their heads to the side for hours.
Another set of pictures that I have been sitting on, paralyzed and overwhelmed, for a month. But this one I’m getting out there because they’re the dogs of a couple I know, and they will hate me forever if I don’t. (BTW, the title of this post was their fault. Blame them!)
I actually didn’t plan this. I just happened to be walking by a pet store in the East Bay one Saturday, on my way somewhere else, and I thought I’d pop in and see if there were any cute pets to take pictures of. And after I took some of the adoptable kitties (who I will be posting soon) I poked my head into the dog-washing area and lo and behold, there were my friends and their dogs!
There are a lot of pictures I like here, but I’m going to try to caption and hovertext them all, because I think I like them too much not to.
Rex also kind of looks disgruntled in some of these pictures, but I think it’s just an artifact of his trying to keep the water out of his eyes and mouth.
Gotta say, these automatic dog-wash stations are neat. You can choose soapy water or clean, and there’s a dryer and everything.
They also give you these neat aprons to keep your clothes from getting wet. (That’s my friend Tommaso. Say hi to Tommaso, everyone!)
I ran into Arty on the way home from work today, and discovered that it was his first birthday today! Well, how could I pass up the opportunity to post some birthday shots, especially of such a pretty pup?
Edit: Arty’s mom showed up in the comments below, and informs me that Arty has an Instagram page!
Don’t have any details on this guy except that he’s totes dorbs.
Hiro (male, 5 months) may or may not be named after the, er, protagonist of Snow Crash. )I hope not, because he was anything but cute and fluffy, and Hiro is nothing if not cute and fluffy.) Or possibly he’s named after the character from Heroes. Or maybe he’s just a little hero for someone.
My company moved a couple of weeks ago. We now are located in with TripIt, our fellow Concur subsidiary, in the Airbnb building. It’s really rather a remarkable-looking place. At least, the lobby is. Our actual office is depressingly ordinary.
I suspect that odd piece of art is ‘the cloud’.
Happy National Puppy Day, everyone! Even if it isn’t by the time you read this, trust me, you’ll be able to pretend after seeing Chiyoko (Chi/yoko, The Daughter of a Thousand Generations). These pictures were taken about a month ago, when she was three months old, literally the day after she arrived from Japan.
I sprinted stealthily across a street and down another one and then screeched to a halt and ‘casually’ walked up to the woman walking Chiyoko just as she was about to walk into her yard and close the gate behind her. I am so suave, me.
