I have no idea what this gal was, but isn’t she cute? Those ears look like they should belong to a dog ten times her size.
Her friend is a little more readily identifiable.
Edit: A little birdie in the comments tells me that her name is Pepper and she’s a ‘pom-pom’: a Pomeranian toy poodle mix. I would never have guessed.
Soft fur, and more fluff than any two dogs need. Which is of course a different amount than they might WANT.

Doberman pinschers were the ‘big scare’ dogs before the pit bulls took over. As you can see, this one is determined to do his part to keep that misconception safely buried.

I’d call this one a preview too, except that I didn’t get much more in the way of pictures of this pup than just this one. Put him down on the ground and he is a complete blur.

Swayze was a hit with everybody, and he just totally soaked up all that attention.
A ridiculously adorable fluffball. He spent all day in the window, but it was only because his adopter picked him out on the way to work and couldn’t pick him up until after work. I would’ve just taken the day off, personally. You have to have priorities!
Ungh. I can’t believe I STILL have this cold! I have had this cold for TWELVE DAYS. I haven’t had a single cold in over two years and now that I have one I may just HAVE a single cold for two years.
He was utterly puppy-hyperactive the entire time I was standing there. Which was not long enough.
Oh god don’t look directly into the puppy or you will melt.
He had at least five different toys in there, and played with every single one while I was watching.
I am endlessly fascinated by the way the windows of large buildings, and even some smaller ones, lend patterns to other buildings at various times of the day.
I really miss having a zoom lens. The camera on the bigger iPhone (2x zoom, anti-shake) really is the only thing I envy about it. If the smaller model doesn’t get the cool dual-lens camera for the next iteration of iPhone I’ll get another decent pocket-sized camera to go along with it. There’s a nice one I’ve had my eye on… but I’ve spent enough money on myself over the last couple of months.
This would have been a lot nicer with a zoom lens. Couldn’t get any closer without losing the angle or getting blocked.

So there’s something else going on at Macy’s in San Francisco, but it’s this Thursday only: get your dog’s picture taken with Santa, mingle with Tuna, a dog of whom I was previously not aware but who seems nice, and just generally get into the holiday spirit and/or holiday spirits. It’s 5 to 8 on Thursday the 8th, with Tuna being there from 6 to 7:30. Tickets are $45 and include up to two humans and up to two dogs, and all of the proceeds go to the San Francisco SPCA.
