Dog of the Day: Madison the Red Labrador Retriever Puppy

Mad mad Madison. She’s ten months old, and a ginger, so it makes sense she’d be a little feisty.

Red Labrador Retriever Puppy Grinning

Total sweetie. Likes belly rubs and nose licking.

And look at that goofy grin.

Dog Pack Day: All The Greyhounds

These four dogs dragged their people together for a meeting. The people were socializing too, but it was pretty clear who was in the driver’s seat.

Edit: Rrgh. Sometimes wordpress does not post when I say to post. And sometimes it makes my whole web site go kaboom. I don’t like either of these, no I don’t.

All rescued racers, of course.

Two Greyhounds, One Grinning

Some of them are goofier than others.

Dog of the Day: Cabby the Newfie

Cabby is short for Cabernet, Newfie is short for Newfoundland Dog, and this pup isn’t short for anything at all, being quite tall. She’s also of drinking age, for a Newfie at least (in her case eleven and a half), and I found her in her favorite watering hole, a charming spot simply known as ‘The Bar’.

You know I was walking by the pub and only came in because I saw her, right?

Just a giant teddy bear.

Caturday Supplement: Two Little Cuties

Look at these two. Just chillin’ in their little fishbowl at the adoption agency, waiting for someone to come and take them home and love them forever. Hint hint hint hint.

Black Kitten And Marmalade Tabby Kitten

Which one would you want?

Hint: ‘both’ is the only acceptable answer.

So Yeah The Outer Mission Is On Fire

Okay, it’s ‘only’ one (smallish) block. But it was a NICE block, with a cheerful little hardware store and a tasty restaurant and a bar I’d never actually been in but I am sure it was nice. And lots of people’s homes. I hope everyone is okay.

Adoptable Dog of the Day: Dennis the Dachshund Jack Russell Terrier Puppy

Just ran into Dennis today, so he is still available at Family Dog Rescue! Hurry and snatch him up because he is adorable, and is a big favorite of the staff there: he’s mellow (especially for a puppy) and sweet but only a tiny bit shy. It took him around a minute to warm up to me, and did not involve any treats. Getting him to pose for the camera? That involved treats.

Posting from phone. Computer is tied up at the moment.

(What? Adoptable? But I have a perfectly good human right here!)

(Don’t you want me any more? ):

Dog of the Day: Ecco the Husky Pomeranian Repeat Customer

Ecco’s back, and he’s gonna be in trouble! Ecco is now 9 months old, and busy ignoring most of what mom tells him to do except for when HE wants to do it. He did not want to sit. He wanted to come sniff me. And so Ecco did.

Huskeranian is such a great word.

Husky Pomeranian Mix

Floooooofy tail.

That’s mom trying to get him to sit. Nope. Not gonna happen.

Dog of the Day: Another Very Patient Australian Shepherd

I saw this dog, sitting patiently out in front of a local watering hole, paws calmly crossed in front of her, and I instantly thought, “I have seen her before. I know I have.” A blue merle (but with some brown) Australian shepherd, left eye blue, right eye brown, who sits out in front of places waiting patiently with her paws crossed. I was absolutely certain I’d run across that before.

So I went home and I looked around some and it took me a while, but I finally found her. Taken in December of 2011, posted in January of 2012. I don’t know what amazes me more: that I remembered having seen this dog before, or that this was in fact a different blue merle (but with some brown) Australian shepherd, left eye blue, right eye brown, who sits out in front of places waiting patiently with her paws crossed.

Look at that face. The coloration is just so gorgeous.

I can’t believe how unobservant I was. They both sit out in front of places with their paws crossed, but they have different ones on top! Duh.

Pretty big Aussie, with an unusual amount of floof.

Dog of the Day: Pomeranian Driver

I dunno, I’m all for canine rights, but I can’t help but feel that there may be some safety issues when your paws can’t reach the floor.

Cream And White Pomeranian Leaning Out The Driver's Side Window Of A Car

So in all seriousness… this doesn’t strike me as a good idea.

What do I know, I guess. I have never even driven a dog in a car. They certainly weren’t going fast.

Pretty adorable regardless.
