It’s been a very long day, full of near-sunstroke and very confusing documentation. Longer, I hear, for Autumn, who apparently had a minor altercation with a parked car. So, a short caturday morsel (of delicious marmalade tabby), instead of the rather larger meal (cat food, naturally) that I had planned.
This was an adoptable kitty who got adopted less than ten minutes after I left. I came back half an hour later and he was gone!
You can see why. A real lover, this one.
Found Emma (whose dad thinks she’s a pit bull/Labrador retriever mix, but that’s just a guess) hanging out in Rincon Park, right near the Bay Bridge. She was, I think, just about all played out (which probably takes a little less time than it used to now that she’s 13 years old) and was just lazing in the grass and enjoying having the ball.
I promise, I didn’t pose this. She just sat down right in front of the bridge.
She was not impressed with me. As you can probably tell.
Dakota (whether North or South is unknown at this time) was hanging out all by his lonesome in front of a restaurant in the Marina district, but I ran into him a little while later in company, which is where I learned his name and the fact that he’s seven. The fact that he’s a total sweetheart I worked out all by myself.
It’s been a good month or so for Airedales… I just posted Duke about a week ago, and I still have two more to post.
Airedales were originally used for hunting otters. Tragic! Fortunately they are no longer forces for evil.
I feel like someone has been a bit remiss in their care and maintenance of their admittedly-challenging pup.
She looked a little droopy, but she perked right up when I went to say hello.
Without the topknot I bet she can’t see a thing.
I admit it… I’m fresh out of ideas on this one. Any help from the peanut gallery?
The ears look like spaniel. the body shape looks perhaps a bit basset-ish. And the fur is I-don’t-know-what-ish.
Whatever breed he was, this little girl was clearly delighted to meet him.
Saw this potentially prized pup painting in the window of a store in Cow Hollow, along Union Street. I’m not sure what the name of the store was, and when I zoom in on the map it tells me it’s at ‘Steamed Sloth Inc.’ I’m pretty sure that wasn’t it.
It’s an odd representation. NONE of them seem to be happy.
So I was walking down the street and glanced into someone’s window, and what should I see but a cat-bed-looking thing with one black kitty-ear extending over the top of it. I could not see into it, but I immediately inferred the presence of a cat (or a resident with a very strange sense of humor). So I held my camera up high over my head and got a picture of a kitty snoozeball! And, as a bonus (penalty?), a picture of my reflection.
Cats have such nice compact sleeping position.
Duke’s full moniker is ‘The Duke of North Beach’. At only 3.5 months! A very responsible position for such a tiny Airedale puppy, I think you’ll agree, but Duke seems to be up to the job. Or, at least, he’s up to the ‘meet and greet’ part of the job. And if he’s not up to the paperwork, well, I’m sure he’ll be fully house-trained soon…
Given his costume, I suspect you can guess about when these were taken.
Apparently he just went up to people and licked them even if they weren’t Warriors fans, though.
It’s so hard to resist petting them when you’re taking pictures of them.
Murphy! He (yes, ‘he’) was 11 weeks old in these pictures, and far too hyperactive and wiggly and happy to be real. (Just like every other labrador retriever puppy, none of whom are very credible either!)
Mom only got him to slow down for long enough not to be blurry by making him play ‘find the treat’.
Oh, they are going to have so much fun together.

I’ve run into a Spinone Italiano before, but she looked absolutely nothing like Giorgi. I’m not sure he is one (I have no notes) but I suspect so. I think the reason he looks so different is that he was shaved everywhere except, ah, two places. Which I believe will be immediately obvious to you once you see his pictures.

Giorgi was much more interested in saying hello than posing for the camera, but with a little help from his mom I got a few decent shots. Shame about the contrast.
