Kuma (8) really loved his perch.

Brandy is 8, and her dad described her pretty aptly, I’d say. If I had to guess, I’d say there was some St Bernard (or another similar breed) and some basset hound.

I wanted to do a little hiking a couple weekends ago, but I had two criteria: the place had to be shady, and it had to be under 80 degrees. Turned out this was a bit more difficult than expected (it was even 85 in San Francisco!), but I found a little place in Pacifica to wander around under the redwoods. I didn’t bring my good camera, but I was still able to get a scenic view and a few wildlife shots. None of the birds, but some cute little lizards and some rather handsome deer.

I was wandering along the Embarcadero and up into the Ghirardelli Square area today, enjoying the much mellower vibes of a Blue-Angel-less Fleet Week. I admit to being more fond of quieter entertainments — much like most dogs! There was still some noise, from the Canadian contingent, but Shasta didn’t seem to mind at all, she was fetching and chasing and soliciting belly rubs from everyone in the crowd. And when I found out that today is her birthday, I gave her plenty of belly rubs and several fetches!

I saw Ari (2) romping around in a little parklet in Mission Bay, and I said, “Wow, is that a Eurasier?” Ari’s dad was quite surprised that I recognized the breed. And honestly so was I, since it’s been around eight and a half years since I saw one!

I ran into Sky at a little noontime concert a couple of weeks ago, and then I ran into Sky again at an after-work ice-cream-social-and-concert a few days later. Sky just likes music, apparently!

Some more pictures from my 2023 trip. These cuties noticed me and wondered if I might want to come swimming.
