Double Dog Day: Macy’s Window Puppies

Macy’s SF is having SPCA windows again this year, finally, after several years of not doing it. Only two enclosures at a time, and very, very limited hours, unfortunately, but I’ve caught it a few times so far. One day, these two, brother and sister, were in different enclosures. I can’t imagine why, they should have been in the same cage so they could play! (Whaddaya think, pit boxer mix?)

No captions or hovertext today. I think these speak for themselves. Especially the one with the girl pup looking over her shoulder.

Double Dog Day: Otto and Liesel the German Pinschers

I ran into these two this morning on the way to work, and realized that Otto (2 years, in the black) and Liesel (10 months, in the red) were the blog’s first German pinschers. Didn’t want the blog to be German-pinscherless for any longer than necessary, so here they are.

Two German Pinschers Looking At The Camera
Wikipedia says German pinschers are ‘essentially short-haired schnauzers’. That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in weeks.

Dog of the Day: Unknown Mixed Breed

Hard to tell what breed a dog is when they’re wet. Australian shepherd? Some kind of spaniel?

Dog Being Washed
This guy is actually one of the calmer dog-wash customers. Still, though…

Dog of the Day: Louie the Goldendoodle Puppy

Louie (10 months) was about as bothered by the cone as he was by, well, anything else, really.

Caturday Supplement: San Francisco Cat Show Kitty

I have no idea what this coloration and/or breed is called. Can anyone help me out?

Cream Cat With Grey Spots And Stripes
Most of the pictures I got from the cat show have the bars of cages between me and the cat. Most distracting. Fortunately there are a few exceptions.

Dog of the Day: Louis (Loo-ie) Armstrong the Golden Retriever Puppy

What do you say when you see this 5-month-old pup? “Lou? EEEEEEEE!”

Dog of the Day: German Shepherd Husky Mix

Just guessing on the breed, since I didn’t meet this pup’s folks, just his own fine self.

Serious expression. I think it’s the eyebrows.

Dog of the Day: Ari the Cardigan Welsh Corgi

Don’t see a lot of Cardies around, but Ari (boy, 1) does try to spread the word about them.

Haven’t had a partial heterochromia picture in a while, and this one is lovely.

Sunday Switchup: Saints Peter and Paul Church

We don’t get colorful sunsets much in San Francisco, but some of them are quite pretty nevertheless.

Caturday Supplement: Chinatown Kitty

You don’t see too many store dogs or cats in San Francisco’s Chinatown… it’s just not really part of the culture, I guess. But now I’ve seen one!

Dilute Ginger Tiger Tabby Cat
She walked out of a store right in front of me and sat down and looked ostentatiously away.
Dilute Ginger Tiger Tabby Cat
Cat expressions are so counterintuitive for humans. In this case, I leaned down, and this was her expression as she came over to rub against my legs and receive petting.

Good thing car tires are tough, huh?
