I wasn’t quite as successful taking pictures of wildlife over my vacation as I would have liked, but I did run across some seals, some birds, a snake, one or two sea otters (from a great distance), and a couple of somewhat skeptical lizards.

The internet largely doesn’t exist where I am right now, so it’s taken a bit of Rube-Goldbergery to get this posted, but I thought I’d post it anyway. Still getting the hang of the ‘new’ camera I bought myself just before COVID hit and haven’t used basically at all until now, but here’s a picture from it, of a cattle dog who was having the time of his life on a beach in Santa Cruz.
Going on vacation this coming week! Should be posting pictures through it, though, hopefully new ones!
In the mean time, here’s Zoe and her amazing pink pantsuit.
Ran into these two and didn’t get a chance to ask Dad about them because my bus showed up. The one in front looks like a partly-hairless Chihuahua, sort of, but the one in the back has absolutely no fur, and sure doesn’t look much like a Chihuahua.
So I figured I’d drop a few more pictures of Hannah, since she is among the cutest things we’ve seen on here in quite some time.
Hannah (3, full name Hannah Phoebe Hubbard, and I’m not really seeing the Rottie but I suppose it’s possible) hails from Alabama, but is now a San Francisco resident. And since the name ‘Hannah’ invariably reminds me of a song called ‘Hard-Hearted Hannah’, and Hannah is anything but hard-hearted, I have made some minor modifications
Soft-Hearted Hannah
The pup from Alabama
The sweetest gal in town…
I’m not much of a birder, but I think (?) this little tweeter I ran into last Thursday was a dark-eyed junco.
Kimi (girl, 4) came over from Taiwan when she was just 1. She’s still recovering from some pretty harrowing experiences, both there and once she got here: she ran away within the first week of her arriving in San Francisco and promptly got hit by a car. Poor Kimi! Fortunately she’s recovered and is doing just great, even minus one front leg. But she is definitely pretty skittish, and wanted nothing whatsoever to do with me.
I ventured forth into the wide world today, in search of a vaccine (which I got!) and some dogs (which I also got!) Rocco (9) is one of today’s catch. He was very well-behaved: he didn’t try to leap up on me, but he was utterly delighted to let me pet him, and leaned against my chest and very clearly did not want me to leave. I am so looking forward to getting out and about and petting everyone’s dogs again!
I found a friend! (This was a while back, but I hadn’t noticed this picture until now.)
