They really do ambush your heart, don’t they?

They really do ambush your heart, don’t they?

Turns out this year there aren’t just puppies in the Macy’s windows, there’s also a little corral where people can go to play with the puppies and decide whether they want to adopt.
I’m going to be visiting that corral at lunch every work day until I leave for Christmas!

WHOA. What’s this? TWO POSTS in ONE DAY? Well, yeah! I promised to post Aisling today, because it’s her ninth birthday today!
And DOUBLE whoa! That makes two breeds we’ve never seen before on da blog, posted on the same day! After SIXTEEN YEARS! (Well, sorta. Lurchers aren’t exactly a breed, they’re what you get when you mix a sighthound like a greyhound with a herding dog or terrier. They have a long history of being associated with poachers and other ‘freedom-loving individuals’ in the UK and Ireland. But still… they’re a thing! And a thing we’ve never seen before!)

Darn it! Yesterday was Mac’s fifth birthday, and I had it set up in my calendar and everything. But the alert must’ve gone off while I was driving off to a party, and I didn’t have it set up to re-alert me. Boo! I’m a bad boy!
Mac is not a bad boy. Mac is a very good boy.

Xander (short for Alexander Hamilton) and Xena (warrior princess!) are 7 and 3, respectively. I don’t have any notes about which is which, but if I had to guess, I’d say the brown is Xander.

Dexter (5) is a very, very athletic pug! Also every time I type ‘pug’ I misspell it ‘pub’. So maybe he’s an occasional drinker, too?

I went shopping for a new camera lens last Friday. My old Sigma 150-500mm, a lens I picked up for photographing sea otters and seals and birds and such, was an amazing workhorse that I bought used in… gosh, I think it had to be at least ten years ago, and no more than fifteen. It still worked great, but it was a Canon lens and the converter for my new Sony body was a huge pain in the tuchus, requiring recharging and not lasting long and just generally being annoying. And I’m planning a trip early next year, and I decided to replace it first. And I found a spot down in San Jose that was having a sale and would take a trade in and blah blah blah nobody’s listening to me, are you? You just want to see the dog.
Well, say hello to Star, who is the star of the show down at San Jose Camera and Video. They’re good folks down there, and the fact that they have such a cute shop dog is proof! Not sure what breed mix she is… maybe lab mix? Pit mix?
