I ran into Xander (12) in Berkeley, and amused his folks no end by guessing not only his breed mix, but also the origin of his name (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Autumn was back in the Bay Area for a couple of weeks, a little while ago. She was down around Santa Cruz and driving through the mountains, and pulled off for a little while, and this fellow came by to see what the fuss was about. He got so close that she could take these pictures from her car, with her iPhone. Lucky stiff!
Mugwort sounds like the name of a witch’s familiar. He would just like you to know that he would be quite happy to become more familiar with you, especially if you have ‘good skritchin fingers’.
Update: Autumn sent this picture to me, and, after I posted it, sent a second picture of Mugwort, so I have added some extra cuteness to this already-cute post.
Meet Xavier (4). Xavier is a Turkish immgigrant who loves everybody, and every dog. He is also a giant goof who is terrified of hardwood floors. His folks have had to put runners in all their halls and big carpets in all their rooms or he will play ‘the floor is lava’ all over the furniture. However, Xavier also has a friend named Ginger. If Ginger is willing to chance a hardwood floor, then Xavier is brave enough to follow. So Ginger is Xavier’s hardwood-floor-assistance-dog!
Ran into Bao, who is now almost a year old, and he is … not much bigger than he was at five months! On the other hand, he’s still just as cute, too.
Until I met Axel (11), I had never met a full German shepherd with a floppy ear. I wouldn’t say my life is complete, but it is definitely more complete than it was before!
I guessed Bear’s (5) breed right off. A GREAT HUSKY!
Happy Fourth of July! I wonder if these two are huddling terrified in a bathtub or happily watching the fireworks? Either way, I hope they have a safe celebration.
