Dog of the Day: Maya the Bluetick Coonhound

Maya is 2, and it’s funny: I’ve run across a few bluetick coonhounds in the city, and three of them, if I recall correctly, were in the Marina.

The name ‘bluetick’ refers to ‘tick’ as in ‘a small spot or mark’. Tick-mark. I always think of that as a check, but apparently the spots are ticks too! Who knew?

Dog of the Day: Prince Henry the Long, the Sub-Miniature Golden Retriever With Almost No Legs

You thought yesterday’s pup was a small golden retriever? Check out Prince Henry (5)! No matter what you tell me, I refuse to believe that he isn’t a cleverly miniaturized golden retriever who was standing behind the door when the legs were handed out.
