I ran into this pup down in San Diego, on my birthday. And it was just about his birthday as well… this was his first day with his new dad, and he was just starting to figure out who was what and just what the heck was going on when I squealed and viciously attacked him with both my camera and lots of attempts to pet.

SOMEBODY has been feeding the wild animals.
They were definitely friendlier than they should have been.
They had the tactics figured out: one to distract you and the other to steal your food.
I ran into Jupiter (5 months old, female) at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmer’s Market. Sshh, don’t tell anybody: dogs aren’t allowed.
Some puppies I want to cuddle, and some I want to play with. Huskies tend to be the latter.
Of course, no matter what breed they are, I want to pet them.
I am not sure where the name ‘Reese’ came from, but I can certainly guess where ‘Monkey’ came from, because he’s definitely a goofy little monkey.
I don’t think I’ve ever run across a Chinese crested cross before. Unexpectedly magnificent!
Well, we had a driver dog the other day, so today we have a passenger pup! He doesn’t look quite as sold on his position, does he? (Pretty sure he’s a German shepherd mix.)
Just looks like like his ears weren’t properly starched.
I ran into these folks down in San Diego. They clearly had a lot of money, to have such a finely dressed chauffeur.
You can tell just how much he likes car rides, huh?
After dad got out of the driver’s seat, it took him roughly 3 seconds to climb into the driver’s seat.
I don’t know what he is. I don’t even know if he’s a he. I just know that he was cute, and had a very pretty song.
A very small, very LOUD bird.
And very enthusiastic. Whenever a human got within about 300 yards.
These two aren’t just brother and sister (Earnest being the boy, naturally), they are twins! Both seven years old. Tibetan terriers are pretty awesome dogs: they’re sweet and friendly and very mellow compared to other terriers.
Pabu is on the left, and Wildly Earnest is on the right. I think. That’s why my notes say, but they don’t say WHOSE right and WHOSE left.
Clipped fairly short, but let them grow out a little more and they really do look like miniature English sheepdogs.
Gotta love those matching bandanas.

I ran into Cider (male, 4 years old) on New Year’s Day. He looks pretty skeptical in the pictures but he was really a nice enough fella.
The breed is according to his parents.
I wouldn’t have had the faintest clue.
I ran across this pup on my trip down the coast. He appeared to have rather a nice sailboat, and also seemed quite happy wandering onto and off of it at will.
I saw him down on the dock and thought ‘Wow, someone’s dog got lost!’
Then he just wandered up on one of the boats and lay down.
Seriously. Who puts cigarette butts in dogfood bowls?
