They do have a few things in common: they're both big, they both have floppy ears, they both love everybody.
But Mulligan didn't have 'toehawks': the big fluffy tufts of fur that come from between a golden retriever's toes. Ridiculous.
Another thing they have in common: they're very photogenic...
...and they're both total hams.
I ran into this Pom the other day, and then again, I think, today. I think. There can’t be that many 14-year-old Pomeranians with puppy cuts in South Beach, can there?
You would never guess that he was 14, would you?
I used to think puppy cuts were cheating. Now that I'm getting older, I just wish there were such a thing for humans.
His attitude helps too. He's not a 'run-around-yapping' puppy, but he's super friendly.
He's also very curious.
Looks like a Maltese to me. No idea what goes on there, but whatever it is, I’m sure it is only improved by a pooch’s presence.
This is right down the street from our apartment. Never seen him there before though.
He looks very much at home there. Maybe I just don't get by there at the right time to see him.

A couple people have complimented me on the title image for the blog, with the misty bridge. I was really only planning on keeping that up there until I got a suitable dog panorama to put there, but it does make me think maybe some ‘San Francisco’ images, to go with the ‘Dogs’ images, might not be a bad idea. I’ll still be posting a dog a day, but I will occasionally post some cityscape pictures as well. Like this one:

I could just about handle having a Yorkie, if it weren’t for the high-pitched yaps. Other than that, they’re generally pretty nice dogs, and not too timid. And they’re undeniably cute.
So small, you'd hardly think there's room for a dog under all that fluff.
Wonder what a Yorkshire Terrier would make of a Yorkshire Pudding?
Yeah, I know, I post a lot of these guys. But every third person seems to have one, and it’s pretty obvious why: they’re great dogs.
Biscuit is 2 years old... old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway.

A pair of Macy’s window puppies, saved from this winter. I think they’re probably half Chihuahua… maybe we can get Autumn’s opinion on the other half.
Bet these two got adopted really quick. You have a huge advantage when you can even *sleep* that cutely.
Can't be full Chihuahua, they don't have the bulgy brow/eye thing going on.
You don't get a lot cuter than sleeping with your face smooshed up against the window.
Keep running into this pup, and he’s one of my favorites. I now think he’s a Finnish spitz/golden retriever mix.
I bet he sheds enough for a dozen sweaters a year.
