We’re not sure about this dog. I’m sure I talked to a guardian (or at least the person who was walking him at the time) but I can’t remember if they didn’t know what breed he was, or if I just forgot to write it down. In any case, our best guess is corgi mixed with some kind of hound, Autumn says maybe foxhound.

I have six or seven pictures of this guy, and in every single one, the tail is a blur. (Of course, in a few of the, the rest of him is a blur too.)
Wow. This gal is just about as mongrel as they come. (We didn’t guess at her ancestry: his guardian told me they had had her genetically tested, and ‘German shepherd/Italian greyhound/shar-pei/Yorkshire terrier’ was the result. Half German Shepherd, and various amounts of the others, I think.) And she’s one heck of an awesome dog.

Well, you can certainly see the German shepherd. Both in appearance and in attitude. And she's quite fast, so Italian greyhound isn't that huge a surprise.
Autumn’s back! (She was gone for a few weeks for a festival back East, and then was back for around a day and a half (and I saw her for a few hours) and then she was gone for a festival a few hours from here. She actually got back on Saturday.
So, in celebration of her safe return, here is a picture of her hypnotizing a cute German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix. (We’re guessing about the Aussie part.)
Autumn is quite accomplished in the field of canine hypnotism. She can bewilder-a-beast at fifty paces.
What a mix: smart as a whip, happy as a clam. You can see just how happy from the pictures: this isn’t just a dog that doesn’t need Prozac, this is a dog that is Prozac.
Also, I don’t know what is up with the name ‘Molly’. This is the third dog we’ve had so far on here with the name Molly, and I don’t think we even have another name shared between two dogs.

An expression I am more used to seeing on goldens. It reminds me of Doug, the golden retriever from 'Up': I have just met you AND I LOVE YOU!
Neither Autumn nor I would ever have guessed that this guy was half Gordon setter, but apparently he is. Gordon setters are big super-long-haired dogs, none of which have been posted on DoSF. There’s one we see on a regular basis, but he’s always in a dog grooming store, and it’s so tough to get a decent picture through the glass.
Anyway, doesn’t this guy look powerfully built? Far as I know, neither Gordon setters nor ridgebacks are generally that muscular. Y’gotta wonder… maybe a pit bull snuck in while the Gordon setter was out for a walk one day.

The ears were super-soft. And he didn't seem to mind me petting them.
A couple of American Pit Bull Terriers for you today. Two sweeties. And dammit, I forgot to ask their names. Oh well. [Edit: hooray, their mom found the blog and told me their names: Nikita and Sandy.]

These two weren't just sweeties, they were also remarkably well-trained. They responded individually to commands after their names, and responded quickly and completely.
Not 100% sure about this guy… could also be a regular King Charles spaniel, aka an English toy spaniel. I’m not as clear as I ought to be on the difference.
Is it just me, or does this guy look seriously disgruntled?

The 'ruby' ones (that's this color) are so pretty. But aren't cavaliers' ears usually flooflier than this guy's?
Oopsie. I appear to have gotten my notes mixed up back in mid-June, and posted the wrong name and breed guess for this dog. It turns out the real Mancha is the guy on this page. And if you’re familiar with Catahoula leopard dogs, you will see the resemblance right away with this guy, but not so much with the one I mixed up with.
Sorry about that, pups. Hope nobody was scarred by the experience.

We found this guy happily basking in the sun in the middle of the Sunset district. If you know San Francisco, you'll know just how unusual that is.
Another Bernie for today. And such a dignified one, too! Some of those expressions make me think that he may be the reincarnation of an especially virtuous elder statesman. Such dignified expressions, especially for a Bernie.

I think we've run into Sam a few times now, but it will never get old.
Time for another puppy. Daji is a cute-as-a-button Rhodesian ridgeback, ten or eleven weeks old in these pictures. He’s still at that adorable ‘I’m not sure what I’m doing’ stage, but he definitely knows he likes his treats! (Incidentally, I think Daji is our first Rhodesian ridgeback.)
