Dog of the Day: Thyra the Norwegian Buhund

I talked to Thryra’s mom, and she said she was a ‘Finnish by-hund’, which I had never heard of before. It actually took me quite a while to find the ‘Norwegian buhund’ using only that as a clue. Thyra is our first!

I saw Esme (1) and thought ‘oh wow it’s a Pharaoh hound!’ But it turns out no, she’s an entirely new breed for me. Remarkable how much they look like Pharaoh hounds.

Okay okay, Polly isn’t a Heebie Jeebie, she’s a PBGV, a petit bassett griffon vendeen. But I think it’s funnier this way. But then, if you call her a heebie jeebie, you won’t be able to find her on Instagram, where she is well worth a visit. There’s some cute stuff on there! (Even if it is a little sparse.)
