Sunday Switchup: A Foggy View
A few weekends ago, I had the pleasure of dogsitting a gorgeous white shepherd (more or less a white German shepherd, but apparently they’re their own breed now). She’s an older dog, and her kidneys, though still working fine, aren’t … Continue reading
Dog of the Day: Big Friendly Shiba Inu
I didn’t get this one’s name, I was too busy being licked.
Dog of the Day: Poodle
So, I didn’t get a name or an age, but I do recall vividly what breed the owner told me his dog was. This is because I thought, as I was walking away, “Oh god, another of these designer breeds, … Continue reading
Dog of the Day: Zoe the German Shorthaired Pointer Puppy
For some reason, Zoe/Zoey/Zoë/Zooey is one of the more common dog names I’ve seen. Not sure why, but it works for me. This particular Zoe is a 10-month-old German shorthaired pointer who loves long walks and longer runs.

Dog of the Day: Cher the American Pit Bull Terrier/Basset Hound Mix
I don’t know this gal’s name, and the dog tags aren’t helping any (unless her name is ‘SF Dog License’) but she’s awesome. I am like 90% sure I’ve taken pictures of her before, and I may even have posted some, but if … Continue reading

Dog of the Day: Boo the Great Pyrenees
I first saw Boo way back in 2010. He’s still a charmer, although he had a bit of a handicap in that department when I took these pictures.
Dog of the Day: Rigby the Border Collie/Corgi Mix
Thirty pictures of Rigby… one came out. The rest were all in the sun, and while in person Rigby is positively glorious in the sun, on a camera he is a black silhouette with burning white highlights. I’m surprised he didn’t … Continue reading

Dog of the Independence Day: Max the Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier Mix
I took pictures of Max on July 4th of 2013, so I thought I’d put them up today. He is very definitely an independent soul. Happy big-boom day. Hope your dogs had a good place to hide from all the … Continue reading
Caturday Supplement: Bebe the Unhappy Grey Tiger Kitten
Autumn and I ran into Bebe late one evening at a local animal shelter and hospital. We were there to scan the microchip of a certain dog that was found wandering the streets of Russian Hill. The only other animal in the room … Continue reading
Dog of the Day: Ike the Incredible Dane
I was meeting Autumn for dinner at a restaurant down on Fillmore Street a couple of weeks ago. I’d been out walking (taking my mind off my discomforts) and was waiting for her. It was already dark (which, at that … Continue reading
